Thyroid acting up around period time?

I'm so flippin tired this week. I'm on a new birth control as well as the low dose of Levothyroxine (50 mcg). This is my first month on both. My period is due to come any day now. I took a 2 hour nap today! I hate that I'm so tired! I want my energy back!

In your experience, can this happen around the time that you get your period? I swear that I had oodles of energy last week and then it's almost as if a switch was flipped! I'm exhausted.

I'm told that it takes a few months for your body to get used to the hormones of the pill. I bet it's the same for thyroid meds. I just want to see a light at the end of the tunnel!

I found your post because I remembered reading it before. I am wondering the same thing. I too am on Levothyroxine (50 mcg) and have been since April, but about a week or so before my period I start to feel yucky sometimes. Today is one of those days I feel shakey, anxiety ridden and tired. I am not on any other meds. I am going to keep an eye on it real close and if I don't feel better in a week or so, I'll get my levels checked and get in to the endo. I wonder if PMS has something to do with messing with the thyroid?
