Lurker w/ a question about hyper and doc

Hi all, I am hoping someone can help me here. I went to my primary doctor a couple weeks ago for a check up on my depression meds and had told him the week before I had been feeling awesome, best I had felt for a long time, was exercising, just feeling good, then 4 days later, I hit bottom, was so exhausted, felt horrible. So he decided to run a thyroid check, he had ran it a couple months before that, when I went in for my depression in the first place, and he had told me at that time, that it was just barely abnormal, but didn't need to do anything about it. So at this next appointment, when he checked it, the nurse had called me the next day and said the dr wanted to know if I had been taking any over the counter diet pills or anything, I said no, never have, and she said that the blood work came back abnormal, and he wanted me to get an ultrasound. So a couple days later had that, dr called back said it was abnormal and wanted me to come in and see him. So I did, and he said " you have some cysts and a 2cm lesion" told me he wanted me to get a nuclear scan, if it comes back with something then "we will take out your thyroid, no big deal" He also said I had a hyperactive thyroid. Which was suprising to me because I have every symptom of hypo. So fast forward to today, I had my nuc. scan, and the lady from my doctor's office called and said that my scan was fine and to just come in for my follow up appointment for my depression meds in 3 months.

Does this sound right to be hyperactive and do nothing about it? Should I see an endocronologist?

I appreciate any one's info!

Thanks,
Joleen

I would definately see an endocrinologist. Family Docs. don't usually want to mess with the thyroid.
