I had my right lobe removed on Wednesday and I am at home recovering. The surgery went well; the dr. said it was bigger than she thought it would be (about 8 cm.) and I lost a lot of blood. But, overall everything went well, and I came home the day after. I finally feel ok today. The past two days I couldn't stop sleeping and had to take pain meds; but today I feel a lot better.
I will get the stitches out on Monday and the pathology report should be in by Wed. I am so nervous for the results! I don't know if I could go through this again if I had to get the left side removed. Please keep me in yur prayers for negative results! I did have a FNA done last year which was negative, and my dr. said my left side seems totally normal; so I'm praying that it will be ok.
I'm sure I will have questions in the days ahead, thanks,
Jill in NJ

Glad you did so well. I had my left side removed in August with benign results but after final path came back, they said I did have thyroid cancer. Sooo went back to have the other lobe taken out in less then 2 weeks from the first surgery. No lymph node invasion and I didn;t even have cancer in the other lobe. Caught it very early. I am praying for benign results but if it's not, you will be okay. Promise!!! Fill us in on the final path report when you get it. Everyday you will feel better!!
Get some rest, don't feel bad about resting, that is how your body recoups...
