Weight loss after increased meds
| Thu, 06-28-2007 - 2:12pm |
I was on generic Levoxyl for a while, and the combination of that and changing jobs where I walked less has caused me to weigh more now than I ever have in my life (except for pregnancy). My thyroid levels were low and the endo did increase my dosage (and put me back on regular Levoxyl). I've been on the increased dose for a month now and haven't seen any weight loss yet. I am also trying to watch my diet and am exercising more but still no results.
On average, how long does it take for the meds to finally kick in and raise your metabolism back up a bit?
Thanks,
Emily

Emily,
Glad to hear your back on Levoxyl. I hate generic brands and feel they should never be used in thyroid cases. It usually takes 6-8 weeks for the new dose to kick in. Hang in there. I know its frustrating.
Dyan :)
