My doctors and I are all trying to figure out what is going on with me. Since Feb. I have been dealing with strange symptoms (after receiving a steriod shot for bronchitis). The doctors have considered everything from low blood sugar, to anxiety problems, to possible thyroid issues. After ruling out heart issues with a nuclear strees test, my 1st doctor wanted to chalk it up to anxiety, but I am just not convinced. I know my body, and something is just not right.
I did fasting bloodwork for the first time yesterday, so we will see what that shows. I have a close friend who is convinced that my symptoms sould alot like hyperthyroidism. I thought I would post my symptoms here to see if anyone could give me some insight. Here's what I've been dealing with - they don't necessarily occur at the same time or every day, but enough to interfere :
1.) Shakiness/Hand trembles here and there
2.) Being more tired that usual
3.) anxiety attacks (NEVER had these in my life befor Feb)& nervousness
4.) lightheadedness/dizziness
6.) loose bowel movement & chills in the middle of the night
7.) rapid/pounding heartbeat
8.) weight loss (about 12 pounds since Feb) without any change in diet
Does this sound like hyperthyroid? Is is possible for a thyroid problem NOT to show up on bloodwork? This is making me crazy because I've gone from having ZERO health problems to feeling like I am unraveling and can't figure out why! Thank you in advance!

I was hyperthyroid and diag. w/ Graves disease about 3 yrs ago. Many of your symptoms do sound like hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid). Have your doctors done thyroid bloodwork on you? If they haven't, I would ask them to check your thyroid. If I can remember correctly they should be testing TSH, Free T3 and T4. If you do have a thyroid problem, I highly recommend that you go see an Endocrinologist if your insurance will allow you to as they specialize in this type of thing.
You know your body best and you are not going crazy. In my experience, thyroid symptoms can sneak up on you and they do make you feel like you are going crazy. They also can be easily brushed away as being anxiety, mental health issues etc... When I was hyper, I thought I was going crazy and had huge anxiety issues! I am now hypothyroid (underactive) so am now on meds for that.
Good Luck and keep me posted on how you are doing
