Sorry to have to post...again...but I am new to this and really trying to figure out what is going on with my body. Like I posted before I have many of the symptoms of hyperthyroidism (Excessive sweating, Heat intolerance ,Increased bowel movements, trembling hands, Nervousness; agitation, Rapid heart rate, Weight loss
Fatigue). I am going to the dr Tues and hoping bloodwork will shed some light on all of this, but in the meantime...

I CAN'T SLEEP!!! Is this a hyper. symptom too? I will be totally exhausted, but when I lay down to go to bed I can't sleep. It's like the nervousness takes over, my heart beats heavily, and my feet and hands feel tingly. I just lay there wide awake. Right now, it's 2:17am and rather than sleeping I am typing this - ridiculous!

Also, since I've been feeling badly, I've noticed little things that used to not bother me upset me now. For example, my daughter is sick and running a high fever. We've been through this, but this time I am a nervous wreck about it. So strange...I feel like I don't know my own body anymore.

Thanks in advance for listening.

Not sleeping is absolutely a hyper symptom, even though you are completly exhausted. They discovered my hyperthyroidism when I was pregnant with my daughter and then after she was born my levels shot up and I had to be on meds. I was exhausted with having a new baby, but I'd wake up several times a night and couldn't go back to sleep. As I told you in my other post to you I too had anxiety, irritability and mood swings too. They thought I was also having post partum depression so I was on meds for that too. In reality now looking back on it, it may have just been my thyroid acting up.
You sound like you have many of the symptoms of hyperthyroidism. Make sure you let your doctor know all of this on Tuesday. Again as I mentioned to you before, if you do have it ask to have them refer you to an endocrynologist. I know that many GP docs treat thyroid problems, but they do not specialize in it like endo's do. I just had a bad experience with a GP thinking she could treat my problem and am sooooooo glad that I have an endo I go to.
Again I wish you the best of luck! If you are feeling really bad, ask to get in earlier than Tuesday! I hope you find some relief in your symptoms soon. Please let me know what happens and what meds they put you on. I did real well on Methiamazole (sp?) and was on it for a year and actually went into a remission and didn't have to be on any meds for over a year.
Hugs and Good Luck!
