1st Lab Tests Back

They did not do the T3, Total T4, or Free T4. The only thing thyroid related they tested was TSH. My TSH level was 2.08. Apparently that falls between the normal range. Now I am really confused. Can I still be dealing with hyperthyroidism even if this # is normal?

Hi mommy2abbi,

It would be my opinion that you could still have a thyroid problem even when your TSH is in the "normal" range.

Thanks for your responses. This is so frustrating!!! I am going to my gynocologist tomorrow, so we'll see what happens from there. He is great, so I know he will actually listen to me rather than just brush my symptoms off to anxiety which is a JOKE. I am sure he will request the other tests - if for some reason he doesn't suggest it -I will. I have had enough of feeling yucky!

I am sorry to hear that you didn't get where you had wanted to with your doctor visit! I was hoping that you would find some relief. I hope that your gyno listens to you and does all the tests. What kind of insurance are you on? Are you able to go see an endo without a referral? That might be your next step if you don't get anywhere with your gyno. I feel your frustration and am sorry that you have to jump through all these hoops to get to the bottom of this. Be persistent and let them know that you are knowledgable about thyroid issues and that you want ALL the tests done because you know your body.
Wishing you good luck and answers soon!

I went to the gyno this morning and he was very attentive. He immediately sent me to the hosp for bloodwork in order to get results back sooner. I have an appt with him Thu to go over the results, and he said we will go from there. He said all these labs should've been done months ago...he's also referring me to an internal medicine doctor instead of just a regular family physician from now on. I will keep you posted. Thanks again!!

I'm glad to hear that you got somewhere and that this doc. was very attentive! I hope that you have some answers come Thursday or at least a plan of action. Again, keep me posted on what happens.
Best of Luck to you!

So how did your apt go today? What were your lab results? I hope you got some answers. Just checking in with you to see how things turned out. When you get a chance, I'm here to listen/read :)
