test results and referrals

Hi all, I am new here... came looking for some answers. I have been having a low grade fever for 10 weeks now. Well, they tell me it's not a fever unless it's over 100, so really what I've had is a slightly elevated temperature. Along with that I have tired spells, depressed and crying spells, my skin has become thin and papery and a variety of other minor things. I have been through several rounds of blood tests and everything has been normal. I could write it off to being perimenopausal except for the fever and the fact that all this hit me hard in the past 4-6 months. (I am 43)
So... after doing some reading I called and got my test results. TSH was the only thyroid test done and it was 2.258. I thought that was enough to investigate and ask my family doctor to refer me to an endocrinologist, but they said my thyroid test was normal and the endocrinologist probably wouldn't even see me.
Is it possible that my thyroid is to blame? And if so, what sort of questions should I be asking the doctor?
Thanks in advance,
Michelle

Hi Michelle,
Welcome to our board.
I'm not sure why the doctors only order the TSH test but to get the bigger picture, it would seem they should also include the T4 and T3 tests.
