I am new to all the is thyroid stuff. A little background...I am 34, have 3 living children (8, 6 and 1) but btw the 6 and 1 year old had difficulty conceiving, had to use fertility drugs and had 2 m/cs and a stillbirth. I have many of the classic symptoms of hypo and looking back have since my 2nd child. My numbers have always been in the normal range but they have bounced around from low normal to high normal etc. My mother has been saying for years that it looks like I have a lump in my throat (this was while TTC #2), but no Dr ever noticed/picked up on it. Anyway in late June my primary Dr finds that my thyroid is enlarged and he also feels a nodule, numbers were in normal range. He sends me for an ultrasound. That comes back with it being a complex cyst. He then sends me to an Endo (in early August) who is convinced by my history, my symptoms, and feeling the thyroid that I am hypo. He does a FNA and drains the cyst. The biopsy comes back normal but he did send for a repeat ultrasound because all the bloodwork that he does comes back normal...not hypo and no antibodies. At the repeat ultrasound only1 week after he drained the cyst, it was back and as big as before. The Dr drained it again and again the biopsy is normal. I was told to have a repeat ultrasound in 6 months or sooner if the cyst came back. Well, it is only 2 weeks since I had it drained the second time and is back and feels bigger then before. I need to call the Endo and see if I should have the ultrasound again already or wait. He did tell me that if the cyst keeps coming back then we might need to remove part of the thyroid.
Has anyone had recurring cysts and what was the coarse of treatment etc? I need to get all my TSH numbers from my primary Dr because I am still convinced that my thryoid is not functioning correctly.
Thanks,
Sandy

Hi Sandy,
Welcome to our board.
I wish I could help regarding the recurring cysts but I don't have experience with that.
