High TSH

I have a new family Dr. He normally does not test for Thyroid, but my previous Dr did so they tested me along with my other yearly tests.

I got a call today that everything was normal. Well, I wanted to know what my actual numbers are....especially the Cholesterol. So I stopped by the Dr office and got my reports. The cholestertol is great...good is good bad is good..lol

But, when I got the the TSH it says its 5.66 H.

Normal range is 0.40-4.50.

Why would they say this is normal? I do have dry skin, bad nails, some heart palpitations now and then. I put in a call but haven't heard back yet.

Thanks for any insight!

Hi mountainlover,

Welcome to our board.

I think you're right to question this test result and the "normal" diagnosis.
