Man, I have HAD it!!!
| Sat, 06-28-2003 - 6:24am |
It took me 20 minutes to load this message board tonight and it is freezing on me all the time!!!! I am just about to have a fit!!!! WHY????? Everything else I visit or do here is working fine!!! It is just the iVillage Boards, even the iVillage site works OK. Anyone have any suggestions. I have deleted the cookies etc. I restart and it makes no difference. Is it in my "internet options" somewhere!? ANY help would be appreciated! Hilary

About all I can offer you is a hug. I sure hope someone can help you!
Have you noticed any pattern like it happens certain days? So frustrating and bless your heart, you struggled through. You're quite a trouper! :)

Yikes Hilary ..
So sorry to hear this .. Sounds to me like it's more your computer if it only happens with ivillage boards .. Yes, it could be your settings as well as your firewall setting if you have one of those..Play around with those, change, lower, etc.. let us know after .. Also what is different than before do you recall if it is slower now..

**Do you use IE .. Is that where it is your home page .. the log in page you mean?
Do check firewalls .. Since it has been more recently has to be *you* as opposed to *them* :::maybe:::

When I see it is taking long to post something or even retrieve something on this board--I hit the stop button and try again. It may be you are hitting the board while it is being updated.
Hope this helps!!!!!

If you are using MS Internet Explorer click on My computer--click on control panel--click on internet option--click on delete files--click the 'delete offline content' click ok--click on 'settings' click on--view files--click inside the window with all the files--type cntrl 'A'--hit the delete button--unfortunately this removes all of your 'cookies' but I had the same problem not long ago and this cleared it up. Also click on the 'clear history' button and don't keep more than 2 days worth.
