Well I am trying to catch up so bear with me. Dh brought home 80lbs of chicken legs and thighs. I had to get rid of it cuz mom in law brought me 100 lbs of boneless skinless breast meat. So I need all chicken ideas you ladies have. I have grilled fried boiled and baked please give me quick recipe ideas!!!

On a different note last week I posted about an allergic reaction well it turned into a yeast infection. Here is the strange part I have never had one before. Any relief ideas will be appericated.

My youngest had poison ivey all over his face last week. That is another first for us. Summer school is almost over then my boys will be tested to see if they can handle being home alone while me and dh work. Any ideas there would also be appericated.

Last but not least I think we got a new kitty. It showed up in the tent with the boy and it will not leave I have tried to get it to go to the neighbors barn with their cats but no luck she keeps comming back so I started to feed it. guess that makes her my cat. And I saved her life cuz my mean George kitty wanted to kill her. GTG ~Mary~

Hey Mary~

I'm sort of new here. My name is DJ!!

I do have an idea for your chicken situation. I always end up buying more chicken than I buy of other meats, so I'm always trying to find different ways to cook it. iVillage has an excellent recipe finder. I use it all the time.

http://www.ivillage.com/food/recipefinder/

For the yeast infection situation; I had a friend in college that had low PH levels so she was very suseptible (sp?) to yeast infections. She would have them quite often. One thing that I remember her doing for relief was sitting in a shallow bath of warm water & vinegar. I don't know how well it worked, but she did it quite often.

HTH! It was nice *meeting* you! ;o)

Much love,

~DJ~

How much chicken!? Are you sure that is not a typo!! You could ask the whole US army over for a BBQ.

Don't know much about yeast allergies, but as for your new cat. We came home from overseas years ago to find a black cat on our doorstep. She is still with us and in our years is over 100!! Once the kids decide there is little mothers can do!! Hilary

Hi Mary,

WB hon! My goodness, that's a LOT of chicken, lol. I think DJ had a very good suggestion there on iVillage's recipe finder. I've had good luck with it. :)

Here's one I do that the boys and dh love.

Boil pieces of chicken (enough for 4)with some salt, pepper, slice or two of onion and a stalk of celery (including leaves.

Take out chicken when done to cool.

Take out onion and celery and discard.

cook egg noodles in the chicken broth until done.

Put noodles in a greased pan (I use spray)

Add chicken that's been torn up into bite sizes.

Add a can of mushroom soup and chopped green onions. Season lightly to taste.

mix stove top dressing as suggested on box and top chicken and noodles with it.

bake in 350 degree oven for about 30 min.

You can double the recipe and freeze 1/2 of it for another dinner. :)

~~I'm sorry it's been so long in the family I don't know where the recipe came from.

As for yeast problems, if it were me, I'd check with the Dr. as it can be soo aggrivating.

I did go to the doc she gave me some stuff but I must use it for 14 days yes 14 days. I am too impatient for that so I went to wal mart bought the one dose stuff used it last night the box said it will take a few days to clear up but in the mean time I am in misery. Cool water seems to help but lets be real that is of no help at work. I finally stopped my period that was making this real bad I should be feeling better by wed. I was surprised that the doc gave me the 14 day stuff with sooo many other options it is probally cuz of insurance. The long stuff is probally cheap. But with an issue like that I will spend the money it is well worth it.

That was not a typo on the chicken She brought me 3 cases of breast meat each box has 24 packages of 3 breasts each. ~Mary~

Hi Mary,

Quite lucky I think you are to have all that chicken Check the website to see if we have any chicken ideas as well as getting some from here too.

Any over the counter stuff will help your infection .. Speak with the pharmacist when you are there.

How old are the boys again .. let me see before I pass on ideas of them staying home alone

Oh fun with the new kitty, LOL

Animals are great

My two boys will be home alone from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm I could go home for lunch Then I will be able to check on them at 1:15pm. Steven is 11 will be 12 in Jan. David is 9 will be 10 Aug 4. I do have a play station their favorite. My biggest worry is the fact that they argue alot what if they fight and noone is home to mediate.HMMMMM????? I know they will be okay with not using the stove. and we live in the country so it is 7 miles to town so no trouble there.

Mary,

I have found when my guys were younger .. and left alone .. They actually got along better, LOL .. If that makes any sense .. Seems with no audience .. only each other ..

There's no choice You know what I mean

You should stop home for lunch and check on them or offer suggestions for their lunch

Let us know how they do .. They will be fine :)

I just made Zatarains chicken creole( in the rice aisle) follow the box directions ! It is awesome.I also have a yummy casserle for chicken that i make a LOT! Pre-cook about a lb and a 1/2 of boneless skinless breast meat, add a 1 lb package of Muellers (or any brand) of FINE egg noodles(cooked and drained) make up a cream sauce of cream of chicken soup and a cup and 1/2 of sour-cream and season salt to taste . grease the bottom of a casserole dish..add the chicken-the noodles then cover w/ the sauce-cover w/ some grated cheddar and bake together for 25 min at 325 degrees. It is realy rich but yummy--you can also add cooked broccoli to it..TRY it ..Its good!!! Mel

Well, I'm not a cook, but I was wondering one thing? How long is it OK to keep chicken frozen? I thought it was like 3-4 months....but I could DEFINITELY be wrong.

Hopefully Hugs will be right in that your sons will *behave* better being alone. Will be keeping all digits crossed for ya:)
