To me, it just means caring about yourself. There's no such thing as perfection, but you can take care of yourself no matter what your weight, height, looks, whatever!!

TO ME Fitness and Health mean living a healthy life. Exercise is important for not only weight loss, but for general health...it's the best "pill" we can take. ANd exercise is different for everyone. It means making an honest attempt to include good for you foods and keeping saturated fats to a minimum...(except for the occasional Onion Ring or Fish stick (vbg)).....For me it means taking a multi-vitamin, getting plenty of calcium, and lots of fruits and whole grain cereal/breads. For me, it's a practice of moderation and variety in foods and physical activity.

Very true! Perfection is unheard of realistically speaking ..

One must take care of themselves in order to obtain their level of *feel good*

I'm STILL trying to figure that out ...which is why I'm here.... All of you give great suggestions...and slowly (oh so slowly) but surely, I AM gettin' it!

Change my negative thinking to positive thinking

Moderation in all aspects of life

Exercise (which I'm trying my darndest to get going again on (;)

and eating healthy foods (I do for a day or two - then it's back to crap for food)

Fitness and Health for me go hand in hand with self esteem and happiness. Going to the gym over the last three or so years has improved my whole outlook on life. I hear of so many women my age who have to take medication for depression etc. and I think in the majority of cases just being able to stick to an exercise and diet regime would be all they need. I do acknowledge though that this is not always possible, so count myself incredibly lucky to be able to have the time to exercise etc.

To me, "Fitness and Health" means exercising and eating properly so that I am healthy physically, mentally and emotionally. When I am doing these things it affects every aspect of my life. I am definitely a happier person and it shows!!

Well I saw this post on the CL board and I had to post... I grew up in a dieting family and I must say, it USED to mean - exercising to be thin! Then I went out on my own and realized that I could be healthy w/o dieting... then I met my husband (6'6" and no fat! who loves to ride bikes - yah, tonight is out on a 4 hour mtn bike climb...) and I realized it is fun...

I now thing that fitness and health mean feeling good about myself - which last month was finishing a triathlon, next month a running race, a half marathon in January in Disneyworld.. (woooooooooooooooo hooooooooooooooooo) but it also means that to finish these races I have to do some training .. but the races make it fun!

I definitely feel better if I try to follow the food groups, eat treats (and lots) but in moderation and get my exercise!

You know the *what* to do .. it's the *doing* that's the hard part

At some point sooner than later .. you will do this ..
