Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, this has nothing to do with fitness, but it Could fall under the Health category if we are including Mental Health!!

Geeeeeze Louize..........why must everything be so difficult?

All I wanted to do was get rid of that stupid wall paper in the dining room - - it had little pink roses on a frosty pink background - - THis is NOT ME!!!. I've lived with it for 5 years now and that is enough.....WELL,, when they put it up,, they applied it Directly to the wall board without priming or anything....NOW, , I've got half the wall-board peeling off with the paper. Grrrrrrr. THEN, I "Thought" that the color I have in the kitchen . . which is quite Bold. . . would look good in the dining room. WRONG!! After scraping and priming the bottom part of the room I did a coat of the kitchen paint and YUCK YUCK.....BUT, , I would not admit that "I" could "DO" yuck so did a Second Coat (lolol) just to make SURE that I really didn't like it! NOw, I've got what in the dining room looks like "FLaming ORANGE" - - -it does, it looks like Burger King!(LOL) And because the wall is so shabby now from the paper removal, it looks like those flames are coming at ya!! It's a flaming Mess is what it is!! Grrrrr.

And the hub is NO HELP!! He's like - - do YOU like it?? WHatever YOU say!(lol) Come on - be real!! He just doesn't want to have to paint anymore.

So, now I just don't know what to do........I've primed OVER the Orange Flames and am kind of just waiting for the spirit to move me and select ANOTHER color. I DID paint the top part (Above what used to be the chair rail) a soft green but I wanted something BOLD so I'm not happy with that Either.

MESSAGE TO KIM: THINK TWICE ABOUT REMOVING WALLPAPER!(lol)

I have to wait now for the primer to dry AGAIN....so perhaps I'll come up with a better color scheme. . . . .

I think I'll just start looking for another house...this is too much trouble!(lol)

~~Have a wonderful paint-free day!(vbg)

Oh Tracy,

You scared me .. I thought you were *really* moving

Sorry to hear it didn't work out hon ..

So now what .. You won't stop your day time job as interior decorator will you

Step away .. deep breathe .. leave it alone for a few.

Then go back and figure out what *you* really want to do with it .. JMHO

Let us know .. ok ..

Yes, *this* does have to do with *mental* health

Awww Tracy~

We had the same issue in our dining room. We did some faux ragging & DH could not stand the color. So we primed over it & redid it. Thankfully, he liked the second color. Actually, when you rag, you use two colors, so we had to change everything.

You know what? Behr has a service online & in Home Depot that lets you pick a color & actually SEE what it will look like on a mock dining room wall. You can pick the color & the room & then the screen will show you what it looks like once it's on the wall. It's a little helpful I think. ;o)

Try it out:

HTH!

Much love girlie,

Aw, DJ, THANK YOU!!

I'm going to try the Behr Paint / Home Depot thingy. . . that should help a lot!

Glad to hear your dining room turned out okay in the end. It's a lot of fun doing this, but, a Pain in the Neck TOo!(LOL) Ah, well. . . I think the ragging idea is a good one in that I think that technique does help hide the wall surface a bit. I may do something like that. My problem is I get antsy and want it done NOW. I don't like the house in this state of turmoil for long. Makes me want to Smoke!(LOL) Course I don't.

Thanks again for that great idea - - going to check out the site now!

Hi, Tracy....well, you scared me, too! As far as you "I'm moving" goes:)

YOU'RE a mess. I've put that Behr thingy in 'my fav places' to have as a reference.

What a great suggestion from DJ.

I sure hope that whenever we DO get around to painting the l.r., d.r., & foyer that the wallpaper in the foyer & d.r. comes off better than yours! YIKES!

Settle down kid or you'll have a stroke - and that's bad for your health!! Considering your ability with this kind of thing I am certain the end result will be fabulous! Hilary

awww tracy!!! ack what a mess! I feel your pain though....haha...i started on the one bedroom that had just awful wallpaper and turns out instead of taking down old wallpaper before they put new stuff up, they decided just to layer the wallpaper....3 layers in this bedroom!!!! OMG!!!! The first layer is the hardest to get off. After that, I've been spraying this remover stuff off which works great but that first layer...wow! UGH!!!

I took the stuff down in the bathroom last night and was so excited b/c it was so easy! Took me like 3 hours but it's all down and ready for my dad to put up new tile while I'm on vacation this weekend!! YAY!!!

good luck girl!!! If i can think of any colors for ya I'll let you know!!!!

I might post this in a new discussion, but i put some pictures up of my house on my website...they are from the day of settlement before anything got moved in. I started another roll with my progress so I'll be updating it :)

here's the link again...
