Question for anyone with children
| Wed, 08-06-2003 - 11:00am |
Starting a family isn't too far off in the distance for me right now. I turned 29 in May and am definitely feeling the itch lately. The BF and I have talked about it and I can see it won't be too long. Obviously our immediate focus is just getting settled somewhere. I just have some questions for everyone here that has children.
1. Were your children planned or surprises?
2. Were you married when you first discovered you were pregnant?
3. At what age did you have your first child? Your last?
4. How many do you have?
5. Looking back, do you wish you waited until you were older or wish you had them younger?

1. Were your children planned or surprises?
**My first was planned .. my second was a kind of a surprise
2. Were you married when you first discovered you were pregnant?
**I was married for both pregnancies ..
3. At what age did you have your first child? Your last?
**Older than you are now for having both ..
4. How many do you have?
**Two handsome young men :::blush:::
5. Looking back, do you wish you waited until you were older or wish you had them younger?
**I am glad I waited for me to have them when I was older ..
Lots of responsibilities ..
I was finished with my own *play* time and more ready when I was older ..
If that makes sense, LOL
Everyone is different as you know .. what works for one may not work for another ..
You already know this .. I think it's great you're starting to *think* ahead like this!

2. Were you married when you first discovered you were pregnant? Yes, to me that is still so very important but the world is a different place now!
3. At what age did you have your first child? Your last? 25 and 28
4. How many do you have? Two terrific sons in all senses of the word!!
5. Looking back, do you wish you waited until you were older or wish you had them younger? I figure the timing was just right. The one thing we did before having children was spend four years enjoying each other's company and saving to put the deposit down on a home. I have known my husband since I was 18.
Wishing you all the luck and happiness in the world sliver, Jo, for the months ahead. What a wonderful time it is in your life! and we get to hear about some of it! Hilary

2. Were you married when you first discovered you were pregnant? no
3. At what age did you have your first child? Just 17 Your last? 24
4. How many do you have? 5 (I lost 2 between the 3rd and 4th)
5. Looking back, do you wish you waited until you were older or wish you had them younger? Couldn't have been too much younger(vbg) glad I started when I did--I grew up with my kids--we never had hassles about music etc. as I lived the times with them. My daughters however started much later as did the one son who has children. One thing nice about having kids young--my youngest was 16 when my career took off so I never had to balance career and children--my 'baby' was and is a dream child (a boy) who never caused me any grief.
