Question for anyone with children

Starting a family isn't too far off in the distance for me right now. I turned 29 in May and am definitely feeling the itch lately. The BF and I have talked about it and I can see it won't be too long. Obviously our immediate focus is just getting settled somewhere. I just have some questions for everyone here that has children.

1. Were your children planned or surprises?

2. Were you married when you first discovered you were pregnant?

3. At what age did you have your first child? Your last?

4. How many do you have?

5. Looking back, do you wish you waited until you were older or wish you had them younger?

Hi Carla,

Nice to see you here. :)

Lol on your second child being a shocker! I can imagine she was. :) I'm so sorry about your son. Prayers this pregnancy goes well. Looks like you will have your babies before you are 32. :)

Thanks again for your input and perhaps you can visit again. :)

I just had my first (and probably only child) in February, at the age of 37. He was definitely planned -- we had to use fertility treatments to conceive him. I wish I'd started sooner with the fertility treatments. We stopped using birth control in '97, but it took until 2000 for us to seek help with a reproductive endocrinologist, and that took awhile, especially with switching insurance (and thus doctors) twice. I wish I'd had him at 32 instead, just because I will be so old for him, but that's the way things worked out for us. We probably won't have any more, just because I doubt we will ever have insurance that covers fertility treatments again (we're moving out of California, which is one of the few places that requires some coverage).

i was 25 when i had my daughter (and yes i was very surprised) and i married her father 3 months after i found out i was pregnant...i am now 30 and divorced...dont have a baby because you have the "itch" (lol.. thats what i said)... have one because you are ready for the full resposibility of becoming a parent. it is really hard at times but well worth it... my advise would be your at a good age to become a parent just make sure you have the right partner... i am remarried and now trying to have a baby ....the only regret i have is my daughters father(lol) Good luck to you.
