Nutrition & Fitness Tip of the Day

Guava. If you are looking for a fruit that is a nutritional powerhouse, consider guava. Guava provides three times more vitamin C than an orange (which is twice the recommended dietary intake), will get you 5 grams of fiber, is a stellar dose of both beta-carotene and potassium, and is a good source of lycopene. Peel and eat, juice it, add to your salad bowl or make a salsa for fish, pork or chicken.
Fitness Tip
Here is an upper thigh toning move. While standing, try kicking yourself in the bottom, one heel at a time. Alternate feet for one minute, rest, and repeat 4 or 5 times. You can do this while reading your mail, magazine, or newspaper. You can also do this as you make your way to the bathroom or drinking fountain. Repeat several times throughout the day and you are well on your way to achieving your minimum 30 minutes of daily exercise. You can even add a little hop every time you kick back.

Hey Stel,
These were great! Thanks and yes, I'm going to try guava. :) Sometimes on a very hot night, I'll serve kiwi as a dessert. :) I just use key lime yogert and slices of kiwi-really cooling for a hot night on the patio. :)
