Quit Tip
A State of Constant Tension
A State of Constant Tension
Abstaining from smoking a cigarette is actually a stress-reduction exercise. Many smokers claim that smoking relaxes them; in reality nicotine addiction, like any addiction, actually increases one's overall level of mental, emotional and physical stress. Increased heart rate, higher blood pressure, and nicotine withdrawal in between cigarettes all contribute to a state of constant tension.

Well, not EXACTLY sure I agree with the above sentence:) During my most recent
slip, it was VERY stressful abstaining..a weak LOL
BUT....I have read and it is true in this tip, that NOT SMOKING does have a much
more calming effect on your body, mind AND soul. Course, if I could ever get off
NRTs, I just MIGHT know what they are REALLY talkin' about
HOWEVER, I do know that my body is able to tolerate caffeine better now, which is
not necessarily a great thing, but I do enjoy a Diet Pepsi/Coke in the early
afternoon, to *pep* me up a bit. Never could do that before, so apparently, my
thing is that my body was already getting enough stimulants from those nasty butts!!

**Interesting Stel. I know I had to cut way down on the caffeine for awhile when I quit.

**I have the same wish Mary. Perhaps one day they'll wake up. Wish you had enough extra money that you could put an equal amount of money spent in a jar and that's YOUR money to do with as you wish.

yes, Golly, that is what you SHOULD do, & what I did in the beginning.
However....due to depression w/out my cigs I started on an anti-depressant to make
life a little easier....but it has a side-effect of sleepiness which has not gone
away yet. But you have made me think that perhaps I should keep my caffeine intake
down so as not to get that ~crave wave~ (LOL) that still hits from time to time.
Maybe the caffeine is causing that. :::yawn::: I'll just have to do jumping jacks
in my cube instead I guess ** stel **
