Hi!

I'm new to this board, but I post on some others. I just want to see what you guys do regularly to keep in shape. I have a mixed bag routine, but it seems to be working to some degree:

Curves gym 3 days per week - 1/2 hour session

Brisk walking around the neighborhood - 3-4 miles per night, 3-4 times per week

Winsor Pilates 20-minute workout - 3 days per week

I'm 29 and am about 25-30 lbs. overweight (according to my BMI), but I wouldn't consider myself fat. I'm 5'10" with a large bone structure.

I'm not a strict dieter, but I'm being careful about what I'm eating, and over the past month, I've lost 6 lbs., but more importantly, some of my clothes fit better, so I must be losing inches. I have a bridesmaid dress fitting this Saturday, the first one, and I ordered the dress a size larger. Wish me luck that it's too big for me!!!

Good luck to everyone struggling with a workout routine!

Hi there newlymarriedneedhelp :)

Welcome to the board. :) Sounds like you've got a good routine going for you too that works. :)

>>not a strict dieter, but I'm being careful about what I'm eating, and over the past month, I've lost 6 lbs., but more importantly, some of my clothes fit better, so I must be losing inches.

**That's wonderful! Congratulations.

I'd say most of us (depending on our health, age etc) are using a mix of walking, weights and aerobics. We're big on water here and also healthy meals and hopefully the right serving sizes. :)

We'd love to have you join us on our journey if you'd like, we have a lot of fun supporting eachother along the way.

Thanks for stopping by and showing it can be done! :)

Luck! Here's a diet idea, more like a lifestyle change, that has worked for my 2 business partners that have been fighting with their weight ever since I've known them. "Eat Right for your Type" is a book outlining the blood type diet. It's not just for weight loss, but for your body's optimum health. I have a couple of friends "in the know" at Harvard and have said this is very a well researched and scientifically accurate diet outline.

Both of my partners were vegetarians since before I knew them, but because they are Type O's they began eating for their type, which included meat-not pork, and have both lost weight. They say they have a ton more energy also. I'll try to find the website that has an outline of every food imaginable and are listed as BENEFICIAL,NEUTRAL, and AVOID for each type.

Hi There!

I'm the Assistant Community Moderator on the Health Channel. I lurk on this board because I'm into Fitness and Health. I can't pass up this question.

My workout routine consists of the following:

I work out every Monday, Wednesday and Friday for about 90 minutes at the health club.

I start with 15-20 minutes of cardio.

Then I work on my Core by doing Hanging Abs and Ball Transfers

I then work my legs.

Then my upper body.

Then my lower back.

Then I do more Hanging Abs.

Then, if I have time, I do a little more cardio.

I'm at a healthy weight for my height and I'm trying to maintain that. I recently lost 15-20 pounds on Weight Watchers so maintaing my weight is my current goal. :)

Wow 16 lbs in 6 weeks is awesome stargirl! That's quite a routine but it's working for you and that's what counts.

>>this week i been feeling very weak from the diet so im eating normal,

**sounds like a good plan stargirl, perhaps just keep an eye out that you're getting the right amount of calories for you and well balanced meals. Feel better.
