Hello new here.

Hello I am a 22yr old female from Ohio. I have a few questions. Because I am new I appologise in advance if this is the wrong place for questions like this and please let me know where I can find a more appropriate place to post this.

I am 140lbs, 5'6. My goal(s) are:

a.) Weigh 125lbs.

b.) Have a flat tummy.

c.) Learn to eat healthier.

d.) Figure out what kind of exercises/routine(s) would work best for me.

e.) Try hard to stick with it and not slack off.

I do not consider myself fat or obease by any means but I do have a tummy that I feel a little uncomfortable with and would like to fix it to my ideal look/weight. As you can imagine with my last goal, I have a hard time sticking with it. *shrug* If there is any advice, sites, info., anything that would help me with my gaols and hopes, it would be much appreciated.

Again, thank you in advance. :)

*hugs*

Erica

If you are trying tosay that 45 yrs old is old you are sadly mistaken. :) *hugs* You are only as old as you feel. (I know people say that alot but I fully agree with it.)

OK...you've passed the ultimate test to be a member of the F & H board...ha ha!

I'm 51, and I can think of 5 other *regulars* that are over 45, not counting

Mel and myself. We ALL feel 25-30 most days, don't we gals? ROFLMAO!

I just started counting calories last week. I also started Tae-bo on Monday, so I've really only been trying for a week. Haven't seen any results yet, I guess I need to be more patient. I'm down to only 2 pairs of jeans that fit, and I was really hoping I wouldn't have to go shopping for "larger" sizes, but I have no choice. That's so depressing - 5 extra pounds equalling one clothes size.

Anyway, I'm hoping that by just watching what I eat, instead of skipping meals will help. I also quit smoking about 2 mos ago, so I'm wondering if that slowed my metabolism a little.

Good luck, let me know what you decide to do to reach your goals!

Hi Hillary,

Don't get depressed hon, if you work at it, it will happen. :) I am sorry about you having to buy larger pants but it will only be for a little while.

>>I also quit smoking about 2 mos ago, so I'm wondering if that slowed my metabolism a little.

**I think it does for awhile Hillary + we tend to feel that wanting of the hand to mouth thing after quitting so are prone to go for munchies.

One thing a lot of us found that helps are straws, either the slim coffee stirrers or regular straws cut in 1/2. No calories on chewing on them. ;) Another is a cereal like cheerios and eating it piece by piece-not as many calories as say chips or cheetos. And of course a small baggie of fresh veggies -baby carrots etc are great for that too!

Have a good one :)

Hey Hillary (that feels weird typing that :-)), don't get disheartened, for what it is worth when I started to get myself together and lose weight and get fitter it took about three weeks to get the first real results. Tae-bo is pretty demanding and you will see quite dramatic results soon I am sure.

Crunches don't actually help you lose weight as such but I find that if I do them regularly the tightening of the tummy muscles often means the zip goes up more easily. Keep at it no matter what, maybe give it one more week before blowing any money on larger size jeans :-) Hilary

Erica it really is great to have you here. We do have a terrific time and on a more serious note being here does make you "think" about fitness and health even if sometimes some of us stray a little! Watch out for Hugs by the way ;-) she keeps us all in line! (Shhh, she's really nice, really :-))
