i have been reading a book called"What your doctor may NOT tell you about pre-menopause". It is by John R. Lee, M.D.My friend lent it to me after she read it. Anyhow it is so on target. He is a huge proponent of natural progesterone cream.Your body loses it as you get older. It is the cause of SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO mant ailments. My friend bought the cream at the health food store. She swears it changed her life. She lost 10 lbs. has less mood swings, isnt as tired...anyhow she turned my sons orthodontists wife onto the book. She has reached menopause..but was having horrible hot flashes and nite sweats..she bought the cream (there are many in his book he recommends) She NO LONGER has to take hormones. It is the natural way.So me being the QUEEN of PMS.I bought 3 ounces (30.oo$)but it is a 3 month supply applied 2x aday--BUT you have to do it pertaining to your cycle if you are still ovulating. I also bought some Black Cohosh9 along-time herbal remedy for PMS)..Well I looked at my calendar to see when my next period is supposed to start..its any day now..but I HAVENT been PMSing as bad as usual- in fact not at all!!I was shocked when I saw that I SHOULD be!!BUT I HAVE been taking Zyban ( wellbutrin-the antidepressant that helps you to also quit smoking)So I wonder if that is helping!!Oh well. Im gonna try the stuff I bought anyway..The cream is a wonder drug from what I read and all natural. So I will keep you posted. The book also stresses diet management-low dairy,,so i boughtfrom the makers of tofutti "sour supreme"..dairy free. I will try it tonite. I LOVE this health food store, "Abby's". i also ate lunch in there. I had a kale salad--it was awesome w/ olive oil and lemon juiceand red onions and carrots--ALL organic--and I had some organic bean soup. The cafe there is awesome and not expensive.I am going back tomorrow!!!Ok I have rambled..TTYL!!! Mel

Good Luck Mel, it is a matter if trial and error to handle symptoms of menopause and everyone is different. I don't envy you one little bit!

ALL organic - what exactly is "organic". Yesterday I went to an organic food market and most of the stuff looked like the "bugs" got to it first!! I bought a package of organic bagels (I never eat them) and they were OK but not exactly my cup of tea! Hilary

Basically organic is food produced without the aid of anything foreign...waxes, pesticides, miracle-gro - and watered only by rainwater. The land is usually fertilized with manure from animals that only consume organic grains and greens as well.

**Sounds like a neat place and yummy food. :) The grocery has two long produce isles with lots of produce inbetween too. One side has nothing but organic grown goodies and the other side, those treated with pesticides. The organic looks soo appealing I'm buy more of it when I can. It can get expensive.
