Sliver's weight loss observations
| Mon, 09-01-2003 - 4:07pm |
This is strictly an observation made of people that are close to me. I have three people in my life that have recently lost 20 pounds or more. One is Joe, one is my sister and the other is a close friend. All three gained weight for different reasons and had struggled to lose it, regardless of how disciplined they were with their exercise regimen and diet. The common denominator? Stress level. All three had been trying to lose weight in the midst of an "I need to make some changes, but where do I begin?" phase. Joe was extremely unhappy in his work environment. My sister and husband were debating whether it was the right time to buy a house. My friend was toying with an extreme career change - corporate world to education administration. Once each one of them made their bold, life changing decisions and started feeling more "settled" they started losing weight immediately. Watching this happen with people I care about has only strengthened my opinion that physical health and well being cannot happen if the mind isn't on the same page. When we choose to be more healthy, we need to prepare for a total overhaul of mind, body and spirit, IMHO.

**I sure think it can make a difference sliver. I've heard that even a poochy tummy can be caused by stress. When I've felt good, positive and strong, it's just seemed easier.
rofl, all except these last 10 lbs .

**That's been my experience sliver. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and experiences. :)

**Goes to show what part stress does and can play on the body.
Once things settle down in ones's life .. managing daily healthy habits becomes doable.

**So true ..
It is a complete lifestlye change that needs all of the mind and body to work together.
Thanks so much for a great share hon :)
