I CANNOT do them, especially Atkins or South Beach or anything where I have to deprive myself of carbs...I crave them even more! Last night, I had eggs and a burger for dinner and then I found myself still hungry, so I blew it by having a bowl of cereal for dessert! I think that just watching portions but eating all kinds of foods is the best solution for me. Anyone else find that when they do Atkins or low-carb diets that they end up falling off the wagon?

**Maybe that's why I don't do them, I know I'd fall off the wagon fast-especially with the Atkins one. I seem to do best in eating from all the food groups but not overdoing on desserts, bad fats and carbs.

Somewhere I read of a Small Plate rule. Saves counting calories and can work (if you work it lol). Take a small plate-about 9". 1/2 of it can be filled with produce (veggies/fruits). 1/4 of the plate can have protein (it wouldn't touch the edges of it's space) and 1/4th can have a carb. I bet it would work fairly well.

I totally agree with that, Golly. Portions, portion, portions. Its something I

need to work on desperately. Good suggestion on your part for all of us.

Thanks, stel

I can't do those special diets either. I love potatoes and pasta just as much as meat, so I decided just to count my calories and fat grams each day. I try to stick between 1000 and 1200 calories each day, so I still eat whatever I want, but I cut myself off after I reach my limit. My mother has had a lot of sucess on weight watchers, she lost 15 lbs in 2 months, and she eats what she wants until she reaches her points limit.

Maybe something like that would help you?

Could be the answer. However, while I'm in Las Vegas, it will be difficult....

I'm heading there tomorrow for a Bachelorette Party!!!

Thanks for the advice!

EVERY SINGLE TIME!!! I finally came to the same decision you did but I have fallen off ther healthy thing I eat whatever when ever and have remained at my current weight for months. I did the healthy thing for a while and lost 20lbs in two or three months. Then that was that no matter what I did not lose any more. I got bummed and said the hell with it and have not lost or gained since. I am going to go back after it again in a month or two. I thought if I quit dieting for a while and dont gain or lose when I go back to the diet I should lose again but this is only in theory!!~Mary~

Hiya there ..

My two cents worth ..

Life is too short to deprieve yourself of anything ::;blush:::

Eat healthy, moderation, smaller portions ..

It will all work out .. watch and see :)
