Gym Trainers!

Hi:

Well as most of you know, my boyfriend was coming to visit this weekend, so I went to pick him up friday at 12pm and drop him off at the airport monday at 5pm.

I have a trainer - well I had one for two months. I stayed in the gym for 3 hours everyday. I think Im the one girl that does whatever he wants. 40 mins of cardio, weights, and abs from mon-fri. I never miss a day.

I know he is very strict that he doesnt let his traniess miss. Ive seen him "punishing" to girls that miss a day by doing more cardio or abs or whatever. He constanly dont go to the gym for a day like once every two weeks, and he is always leaving the gym and then coming back.

Well, I didnt went friday because I didnt want to wake up at 6am to finish at 9am and then be in a hurry to pick up my boyfriend I havent seen in 3 months. I had to look good, after all I lose 17 lbs in two months! So, I wanted to have time to look pretty. And Ill be really tired if i worked out. Im not used to getting up at 6am.

On monday, I just didnt feel like going! Plus I was invited to meet my boyfriends mother and sister. So, I didnt go.

I went yesterday and my ex-trainer wasnt there. Today he said guess what? Im not going to train you anymore i asked why and he said that i missed two days. I just said ok thank you! And started training on my own. (I been doing weights for 5 years now)

I had different trainers, they got mad when I didnt go, but it was because of school or when i left on vacation.

Sorry, IM just venting I am so upset. Why those guys believe all there is in life is exercise, I know it is important. He didnt even ask what happened to me. I mean I had the time of my life with my boyfriend I would miss again the days if I had too.

But something bad could happen and he didnt even bother to ask.

Well, NOW Ive got to stay strong and keep working out as I was doing.

HOpe you all girls can give me a little help, with all your encouragement.

Thank you all, and sorry for venting and this long post!

Aw hun, I'm sorry. That trainer of yours does not sound very professional to me. Sometimes there are things that come up in life and our schedules need to adjust. It's a shame the trainer wasn't happy for you to see your boyfriend and be excited for you to see him since you have lost 17 pounds. It's perfectly natural that you would want to be pretty and fresh for your boyfriend.

My PERSONAL opinion, I would look for a trainer who is a little more sensitive to my needs. Perhaps you don't NEED a trainer anymore and would be just fine on your own. Girls should Never be Punished. That's just not right.

You hang in there and I'm so glad you got to visit with your boyfriend - bet he thought you looked GReat!!

Stay strong,

Hugs,

tracy

Aww Stargirl,

I bet you had a fabulous time with your boyfriend and looked fantastic too!

Just my humble opinion but gosh, that trainer sounds awfully strict. It's not like you're going to the Olympics or anything and real life does come up.

This may be a good thing in that you'll have a chance to find a trainer more compatible with your needs.

But whether you get a new trainer or not, you know we're here for you and to cheer you on!

Stay strong. :)

Hi stargirl,

So sorry to hear what happened between you and the trainer.

He sure doesn't sound very professional like.

I actually think it's better that you either get another trainer or try to do it on your own.

You're right about having your own life and that exercise isn't quite everything ..

Good to hear you had fun with your BF as you should have ..

You had every reason to do as you wanted .. and not get into *trouble* so to speak!

Glad you were able to come here and share, vent ..

Hope it made you feel better hon :)

Hi:

No, I dont pay him anything. Some girls pay him like $20.00 per week. This gym i go to is in Juarez, Mexico. So, its not like in U.S. where they can get paid more there are some things in Mexico that are really cheap compared with america. They are paid to train people, and if someone wants personalized training you have to make the deal with the instructor.

This trainer has worked in there for 10 years or more. Thats the way he does things.

Ill be training on my own from now on.

Thank you!

Thank you all for cheering me up knowing that I had a not professional trainer.

OK! I should go to the gym anytime soon today!

But I just wanted to tell you - Thanks for all the support Ive had during these two months on my weigh loss. You been incredibly supportive this board is awesome.

I asked my boyfriend if he could tell the difference (17 lbs) and he said that with the kind of clothes I use its hard to tell. But that when we were together hugging and "stuff" he definately noticed a big loss.

That made me happy! It wouldnt matter if he didnt notice, I NOTICE, all my old clothes are starting to fit again, so that makes ME happy! Thats enough! And now that he told me this it just makes me want to keep losing weight!

Thank you all!

Well, I'm a bit late, and I'm not a *gym rat*, but sounds to me like you are much better off without that trainer. You just 'strut your stuff' in there, and do what's taught you and know that you don't need his 'mean self' ANYMORE!

So glad to hear you had a good visit with your bf, and BIG BIG congrats on that 17 lbs in 2 months!! THAT IS AWESOME!! And yep, I bet you will continue to drop those pounds until your next visit with our boyfriend.

Keep us posted on your progress, OK?
