The Best Time To Exercise
Is there a perfect time to exercise? How can I make sure I get the most out of my exercise program? Should I exercise before I eat? After I eat?
These are questions I am frequently asked. All of us wish to get the most benefit from the exercise we do. So, what is the answer?
To some degree, the answer depends on the individual. Some people are early birds who like to exercise first thing in the morning. Going out for a walk, jumping on the treadmill, popping an exercise tape into the VCR jump-starts their day.
Other exercisers take more time to warm-up to the idea of exercise. They find it easier to fit in fitness midday rather than first thing in the morning. Lunchtime workouts can also be great stress busters and set a positive tone for the afternoon.
Afternoon exercisers may use their workouts to ease the transition from a hectic day at the office or with the children to a calm dinnertime hour.
Evening exercisers report that after dinner is when they feel they have plenty of energy and uninterrupted time to do their physical activity regimen.
There are circumstances where the timing of exercise can make a difference. Individuals with heart disease may be instructed by their doctor to avoid exercising vigorously after eating a meal. Someone with diabetes needs to consider their blood sugar level and the medications they take when scheduling exercise.
For most of us the best time to exercise is the time we are most likely to do it! Knowing whether we are early birds or night owls or something in between will guide us in scheduling our physical activity. So, get out that calendar and a pen and make an exercise appointment with yourself and don't forget to consult your doctor before starting any program of exercise.

CC stands for Canadian Club, which is a type of 'blended whiskey', I think.
Kinda like bourbon, but NOT!!! I DESPISE any type of bourbon!
Actually I drink Canadian Mist which is cheaper & I don't think as 'potent'.
Plus I make mine VERY weak at home, MOST of the time , as well, I just like it better that way:)
It's what my parents both drank, and guess I just learned it from them. I can get drunker off beer than my *safe* Canadian:)

*Yayy and you sure sound it Hil. :)
I am eating a lot less, exercising a lot more and spending time here where even though we muck around a bit ;) we talk diet, health and fitness most of the time. It really does make a difference
**I do agree Hil. :) Now I'm wondering how many calories in a glass of wine. ;) I'm sure it varies with the type. But say there's only about 100, that would be 200 less calories per day which would help. I think I read that grapes have the same benefits for heart and arteries that wine does?

>>My two cents worth Stel ..

An occassional drink is not the worse thing in the world .. again JMHO of course :)
**I had to stop around lunch time and now I'm lost in this thread but Stel, I agree with Hugs. Besides, in moderation, it could be good for your heart and arteries. ;) Just my 2 cents. ;)
