She just wanted me to let ya'll know that due to terrible circumstances surrounding a good friend's mother's funeral, she slipped.

She is thinking about re-starting as soon as her menstrual cycle ends, which should be soon.

She is too busy to post right now, but will check in when she can.

Big Hugs to Mae....xoxo stel

Thanks for letting us know Stel - - I was about to send out Hugs's hounds to find our Mae!

Mae - - if you get to read this, please know we understand and don't feel bad about slipping. Just get right back as soon as you can.

Did you see this bit about menstrual cycles and quitting:

Menstrual Cycle Studies show that women who quit smoking during the first 14 days of their menstrual cycle, when estrogen levels are at their highest, experience far fewer symptoms of nicotine withdrawal, depression and weight gain than do women who quit during the last 14 days of their cycle, when estrogen levels are at their lowest

That was in an article I posted a couple days ago. Don't know how valid it is, but worth a try.

Take care Mae and see you soon.

Hugs,

tracy

Thanks ladies...To make a long story short, my friend, we'll call her "L", has two half brothers. Her mother had been married and divorced twice. First with L, who is about 36...then she had the two boys 15 and 9...L's mom passed away suddenly and the funeral was Saturday. Her mom's ex decided to come to the funeral with COPS to take the boys. It was absolutely heartbreaking when the boys had to go with their dad. (He hadn't been involved in their lives for a LONG time) EVERYONE was crying and yelling at this a**hole to just leave the boys with L...and go back to wherever he came from. I thought my friend was going to have a nervous breakdown...aside from her husband..the boys are her only family left. NOW good news....they went to court today and granted L temporary custody so somehow she'll get the boys back.... YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ok now me (;)

I've been a BAAAAADDDD girl....hey Tracy...I DID see an article like that...but the one I saw said to quit the LAST day of the cycle...so now I'm confused. When do I stop to get the advantage of this?? I should start any day now...and mine only last 3 days.

If it works at all...I know...but hey..if I don't gain weight I'll be more likely to keep my quit. I know....I know...Remember tho that I have the stupid low self esteem thing going that drives me crazy (:)

**It happens to all of us at times over our life Mae. Don't beat yourself up about stuff at the moment. Look at the bright side. Your cheer squad has had a practice run. They were awesome this time and when you are ready I know they will be there cheering you onagain. Be happy, that is the main thing. Hilary

THose custody battles are Hell.

Mae, I'm confused about the cycle business too. You quit when YOU feel best. I have no idea whether or not the weight loss thing really changes depending on when you quit in the cycle. . .

But, just know that we are ready to help whenEVER you are ready. Don't ever feel bad about a slip or wanting to start over. Quitting takes practice.

Take care,

Oh Mae,

What a horrible experience for all concerned. I'm so glad it worked out that she does have temp custody. Praying it all works out.

In a week sounds good Mae for restarting your quit and during that time you can get yourself mentally prepared like thinking replacement thoughts for those nico ones.

Try to keep the number of butts at a low level til then. k? jmho.

Big hugs,

~Golly
