**There always seems to be a lot of conflicting advice doesn't there? I would think it would depend on how heavy those weights are or resistance is and how intensely you do work out. Your best bet I think is to just really look at yourself (perhaps take pictures) perhaps once a week to see how you really do look as you go along. Also, I hope you have a friend or two who honestly would tell you on that. Ones who aren't into bulking up either to win Ms. Muscles Am. ;)

**Thank you Hugs, I am doing a lot more in the weight room now and was really interested looking around. It is so easy to hurt yourself if you don't have a trainer nearby. Amazing how much stuff is on iVillage when you actually spend time investigating! Hil
**Good for you on being careful!
Believe me iVillage has so much to offer .. always amazes me

In order to gain bulk, you would need to be doing sets of 3-5 reps at such a weight that you can't do more than 3-5 reps. More than likely, you're probably doing sets of 10-15, right? That's going to give you more endurance, not so much bulk and power. Personally I do weights 2-3 times a week, usually three sets of 15 for legs, three sets of 10 for upper body, as I'm trying to get stronger and more developed, but I'd like to increase a little mass on top.
Keep lifting and enjoy yourself! Women with muscles are beautiful....

I thought this article (one in those Hugs found) explained it well, as did judie_rae. :)
