Yayy weekend!
The work week is over for many of us. :) Let's kick back a few before eating and just savor getting through the week. :)
Ok, relaxed and ready for an enjoyable meal? What's for dinner tonight? You know our curious minds. ;)
Whatever it is, I hope you enjoy. :)

Mainly because you could have SOOOOOOOOOOO related to our poor waitress, who used the term '86' (your quit date) later in the evening.
Jimmy & I don't eat out much ~ he LOVES it, but I feel I can spend my money on better things (I'm the 'cheapo' of the family) But it IS fun every once in awhile. We had been to this popular spot one other time this year, joining my work crowd. But last night it was PACKED!!! Obviously their nice patio area was a huge attraction, on our first 'pleasant temps' day in MONTHS!
We ended up with 10 in our party. Our waitress already had 2 other big tables going, and this was obviously too much for her:) Cute as a button, and TRYING to hold it together, but when one table finally left, after having been there for like 3 hours...they left NO TIP! She was just 'livid'.
Anyhoo...it was a gathering to honor the 50th bday of John, the widower of my friend Sally (inspiration to start this quit smoking thing) who died last Oct. Well....as expected all wanted to sit around and chat and smoke and have cocktails, and an hour or so later...start appetizers. It was great to be with these folks, but I was TIRED, after my day in the sun ~ NOT in one of my 'rowdy' moods:) So, Jimmy got some oysters which he loves and I hate, then I got a big ole plate of the fried (yes, who wants sauteed when drinking ) crab claws. They were GREAT! So Jimmy got a plate too. By then, it was like 9:30 & one couple left, as did a single girl, and I could tell Jimmy, the driver, seemed ready to go too. We got there at 6:30 to make sure our reserved table WAS still there. The other end of the table was still going strong. The poor waitress was announcing that certain beers were now 86'd, and those folks were in a dilemma. Waitress said the huge lunch crowd (no doubt due to the nice temps) and huge afterwork crowd had already finished off lots of beer. OF COURSE, I immediately thought of my bud Mel, who just taught me that term...86.
Since it could take as long as 30 minutes to get a drink, we figured it would take another hour for the food, so we stood around & chatted while the others ordered, and then were still there...about 10:00 when their food came. Pretty quick on that..it was just the bar that was slow. Then we left. The waitress 'goofed' on our tab...think she forgot to add the drinks, but she was already so frazzled, we just tipped her very good. Jimmy did 25% on the bill, then I (Ms Little Tipper) gave her an extra $10 cuz I felt so sorry for her.
Anyhoo....that's my muse, which has at least gotten the cobwebs out of my brain this morning Now...I'm gonna go see if this ole bod can tackle a little mowing before my 11:30 football game. Can't wait to hear how the rest of the lot faired...and what THEIR bill was. We MAY end up owing someone for my 4 drinks, and Jimmy's 4 glasses of wine:)
HAVE A GREAT DAY ALL! Everybody keep all digits crossed that AUBURN at least scores a touchdown, which they haven't done in the 1st 2 games...a win would just be AU-SOME!
Hey, Tracy, if YOU see this...your HOGS have a morning game, too:) So soooooeeeeeeee!

What a great story! Sounds like despite it all .. you had a good time.
I'm glad you went out to dinner. Even with the crowds, the drinking and others smoking ..
You did wonderful! No surprise there of course
As for the waitress .. how rude of those other people to leave ner nothing!
That is really awful .. Can't believe though she added your bill wrong
Good for you on being kind and generous and leaving a good tip.
Hope your day today goes exactly as you wish ..
And that your team wins too
Have a good one .. enjoy :)

Well hon, I've got my fingers crossed on Auburn today! Do enjoy the game! :)
That was quite a night Stel but looks like you came through with flying colors. The crab sounds awesome, I've never had it fried! You guys were really sweet to take pity on the waitress and generously tip her. :) Maybe one from the other table will remember and return with a tip too. Can't imagine eating dinner at 10 lol.
Goooooo Alburn!!!
