Weight is ballooning...I need advice

Hi.
My weight is at the highest it's been in over 5 years...today is my 2nd wedding anniversary and I don't feel like celebrating. I totally fell off the wagon with eating and exercise this weekend. Just need cheering up, I guess. I'm back at Curves tonight for sure!

well, I guess the best thing to do is to stop the gain...don't worry too much about losing 1-2 pounds a week right now, just try to stop the gain. Eating lots of fruit and veggies along with whole grains instead of refined carbs (which only make you hungrier & hungrier!!!) helps to stabalize a ravenous appetite (like mine...lol!). I know things get tough, you know with all the family pressure. Sometimes I have a tendency to take on others people's problems....but I want you to know that all you can do is be the best person you can be, be accountable for yourself, and realize that other people are perfectly capable of taking care of themselves....don't let people play victim to you....and don't EVER feel guilty for putting yourself first. TRUST ME...if you don't put yourself first....you will just get more & more drained, until you have nothing else to give (even food won't fill you up after that!..just some good old relaxation time alone!). It's OK to fulfill your own needs, because if you do that you will be at the top of your game, and more able to tackle any situation. Just remember that life is ever-changing, so a situation that may seem impossible now...it's not , there is a solution to everything!!!!! You will perservere, you sound like a fighter, strong. Just know that if you eat good foods, you will feel better & have more energy for creating the life you want (after all...YOU ARE THE MASTER OF YOUR OWN DESTINY!!!!!) So, just make it a goal to eat less reined carbs and fried food, and more veggies, whole grains, and fruit...get creative, cooking can be fun.....then everyone in your household can feel better about what they're eating...
Hope that helps....keep youir chin up!!!!!!
Cheers,
Janine

**What encouraging words and suggestions. Did you ever read the poem Invictus? If not I think you'd like it. :)
Thanks hon.

Hi newlymarriedneedhelp,
Nice to see you again. First congrats on your second wedding anniversary and second, congrats for deciding to get back in here and fight! :)
Janine had a really good suggestion on eating for right now as you restart your journey. I'd just like to add my thought which is to come here daily and write down in the *Exercise and More* folder what you do eat, when etc. to keep yourself accountable to you. By journaling you'll see what you've done and after writing it down a few times, well it just seems to work, cause we get tired of writing over and over, I didn't do well today, and want to change that. :)
Hope you enjoy curves tonight and your second anniversary. :)
Here's to the new you!

**That's great and once you do that you will feel as if you are on the straight and narow again. It's tough but you can do it. At your age given the exercise and sensible diet the weight should fall off quickly. We have been talking a lot about resistance training here over the last week. If you can, try it. I have seriously found it to be the best way to drop weight.
Hmm, so you need cheering up :))
Three women are in a gym locker room dressing up to play racquetball when suddenly a guy runs through the room wearing nothing but a bag over his head.
He passes the first woman, who looks down at his private part ;)). "He's not my husband," she says.
He passes by the second woman, who also looks down at his private part. "He's not my husband either."
He passes by the third woman, who also looks down as he runs by her.
"Wait a minute," she says. "He's not even a member of this club."
