Weight is ballooning...I need advice

Hi.
My weight is at the highest it's been in over 5 years...today is my 2nd wedding anniversary and I don't feel like celebrating. I totally fell off the wagon with eating and exercise this weekend. Just need cheering up, I guess. I'm back at Curves tonight for sure!

We all fall off the wagon every now and then, it happens! Do you have anyone that you can trust to hold you accountable (though that feels like prison, I've tried that)? If you have to, stay busy. Don't be anywhere that you're tempted by food, make sure to hit the gym on weekends when you're tempted, and if you really want to make yourself angry (or feel guilty, depends which works better), find a picture of you at a weight that you liked, or a weight role model, and pull that out when you feel your resolve weakening. Figure out what your eating triggers are, and try to break the connection between the activity and the food (obviously doesn't work with dinner).
Remind yourself that 3500 calories = one pound on the scale and on your body. Remember how much work it takes to burn 3500 calories. And then think about whether whatever it is is worth the work. If it is, eat it, but make yourself do the work! And if it's not...
I know what it's like to battle your willpower against food. I do it every day. I could sit down and eat continuously all day if there was food around, but I'd gain entirely too much weight and disappoint myself. It's hard to exercise self-control and it takes practice. Some days are a lot harder than others, I've got emotional food triggers (eat = comfort = unhealthy relationship with food), and those are the days I need an extra trip to the gym *instead* of the comfort eating. I don't always get there, but I look at food and think of the "workout penance" that goes along with eating whatever I want.
We'll be expecting a report back on your workout tomorrow! You know what goes up can come down.....this is totally reversible with some hard work on your part, but if you're willing to put in the effort, you'll be rewarded.
