Good day Ladies ..

I would love to hear some great food ideas from anyone and everyone ..

Healthy would be great but yummy is important as well

Please feel free to share what is healthy, good, easy quick dinner ideas ..

Also if we can keep them all in this thread it would make finding them easier for all.

I will go back and c/p the ones we already have in this thread too .. eventually

That way we all know where they will be when we want them

What will be great is we can always find this thread,

Post in it and that will *bump* it back to the top

In time I will be posting them on our website as well.

Have a great day :)

~Hugs~

Hope Barb doesn't mind but I noticed her mac and cheese recipe wasn't here and although I have not made it yet I figure from the excitement when she posted it, it must be a winner as well! and I didn't want to lose it, so :))

1 box elbow macaroni (I use Muellers)

1 Brick low fat mild yellow cheddar (or the non low-fat kind vbg)

1 brick white sharp cheese (low-fat or regular)

1 brick white or yellow extra sharp cheese (I usually can't get this in low-fat)

It does taste better if at least one of the cheeses is regular

Grate the cheese

(sometimes this is too much depending on what size I can get so I grate only 1/2 of each until I know)

Cook the macaroni al dente

spray glass or metal rectangular pan with spray olive oil or PAM

put a layer of macaroni on bottom of pan (I sprinkle a little salt on the macs)

sprinkle on a layer of cheese (a combo of all 3 cheeses)

keep layering until pan is full--ending with lots of cheese

Pour skim milk into pan until it slightly covers the last layer of macaroni

Put into an oven at 375 degrees and bake until cheese is golden brown (sometimes 425 degrees is better--depends on the oven:))

Once it is done let it set for about 5 minutes to settle in.

MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM good!!!!!!!

Thank you maam!!!!!

Here is a quickie

Cut up a chunk of 95% fat free ham into cubes

Spray no stick pan with olive oil or PAM

Fry ham until slightly browned

Add fresh or frozen yellow beans

Add skim milk to cover

Cook slowly until beans are done

Thicken with whatever (I use Wondra flour)

Serv over cooked rice (I use brown rice--Minute instant)

I have many more but most take a long time

CROCKpot Garlic Brown Sugar Chicken

1 to 1 - 1/2 pounds chicken pieces

1 cup packed Brown Sugar

2/3 cup Vinegar

1/4 cup Lemon-lime Soda

2-3 teaspoons minced Garlic

2 tablespoons Soy Sauce

1 teaspoon Black pepper

(veggies - optional - 4 or 5 thin sliced carrots, green and red peppers cut into 1 inch pieces, about 1/3 onion sliced)

Place chicken in slow cooker (if adding veggies, put those in first)

Mix brown sugar, vinegar, soda, garlic, soy sauce and pepper and pour over chicken.

Cook on low for 6-8 hours....(unless you have a new large crockpot - mine took 3 hours).

About halfway thru, break up the chicken pieces.

Serve over white rice or noodles.

This is wonderful - -spicy but not too sweet.

Well thank you my dear for the compliment!! I love "w" words...(lol)

Actually, you ought to try this - - it is SURprising how yummy it tastes. I thought 1 cup of brown sugar would make this sick-sweet but not in the least....this is one of my favorites now and SO easy.
