The war has started and I'm excited (;) I ran out of cigs last night...so here we go. The patch is on. The good part is that on my third day I'll be at home...working my bum off so I can work through the craves instead of sitting in an office.
I want this quit so badly. I'm tired of being a slave to the butts. I don't want to poison my body any longer than necessary (cause I'll have to with the patch).
I keep thinking about what Tracy said the last time I tried.... I want you to love you...well Tracy...I'm gonna give it my best shot hon....This is a war with my self esteem. By god..I'm gonna win.

YOU ARE a winner!! You are a winner because you won't give up!
My suggestion is this: Prepare for HELL!!! AGONY!!! PAIN!!!
It won't be half that bad, but be ready. Vow to tough it out. The pain is not that long. Here's an idea: pretend you are pregnant and having the contractions and going into labor - - - there is NO TURNING BACK NOW - - - we are birthing a new MAE!!!! A smoke-free MAE!!! (sounds kind of silly, but what I mean is just bear down and Make yourself get thru this!) It's only REALLY hard for a bit - - - and you CAN go that bit.
You only have to go One Day/Hour/Minute at a time. Do NOT look beyond today. Even TELL yourself, you can think about smoking tomorrow....but NOT TODAY!!!! Deal with tomorrow TOmorrow. You NEED to feel the pleasure of having gone 1 complete Clean day. Then build on it. It IS a great feeling. It's all about power Mae. And you HAVE that power, you just have to pull it out and not be afraid.
Your smoking may keep yourself protected from people you don't want around you, , but, if you don't Stop smoking, you aren't going to be able to enjoy being with people you DO want around you. AND HORSES!(vbg)
I do want you to love you. You are worth it. No matter what. Nobody deserves to be stuck with this horrible addiction and You HAVE to power to knock it down.
Remember you ARE a winner Mae. You are only a loser when you quit trying.

tracy

Oooooohhhhh I can't wait!!!
I adore you Tracy!!! Thanks a million!!!!

TODAY'S AFFIRMATION
"When I dare to be powerful -- to use my strength in the service of my vision, then it becomes less and less important whether I am afraid." -- Audre Lorde
Believe in yourself! When you doubt yourself, you set yourself up for failure and disappointment. Have faith in your abilities and you can achieve anything you put your mind to -- or at least have pride in knowing you gave it everything you had! There is no failure in trying. The greatest hurdle is convincing yourself that what you want is possible.
