It's called "New You" - anyone hear of it? It's my new food plan. Tastes GOOD, it is subtitled 'Hormonal Balance for Women' and has EVERYTHING, soy, black cohosh, chaste berry, Dong Quai, etc., 37 herbs, vitamins and minerals. Loaded with the B vitamins 1, 3, 5, 6 & 12 in large doses, has the D3 and calcium, NO SUGAR! And is NOT your vitaminy-tasting-barely-tolerable-they-call-that-chocolate? diet bar.
I got them today from my friend from whom I received the invitation to represent the company I market from at our local Breast Cancer Survivors Walk. Each survivor got a HUGE bag of stuff, from this kind of bar to other supplements to bath and beauty products. WHAT a job, we set up like an assembly line Thursday, I thought it would be a cinch, but .... anyway it was fun.
Totally positive experience. I got to GIVE BACK. I think Hugs and Golly know I have wanted to give back to the community and society at large for all the help we have, are not, and in the future will receive. This filled a hole in me, to do something that I really, well know, b/c of all the money raised at these events, is MAKING A DIFFERENCE.
The small stuff is so quietly rewarding, but this, was like a huge celebration.
Anyway, my friend gave me three big boxes of these bars, one chocolate, one lemon and one peanut butter. YUMM, boy am I going to fight these menopause symptoms now. Ever have multiple hot flashes? Sweats in restaurants? Right before appointments? Ever have to, that is if you don't have a partner, sleep on both sides of the bed at night, and just have to add soap in the washing machine in the morning???
Yes, at my tender age, I am going through menopause. No 'perimenopause' for me. This is IT.
Then, today, a lady told me that it never goes completely away.
Floored me.
For, I dream of the day when it's over. OK, no more children. I have a baby dog, and when I don't feel like bottle feeding her, I can leave her on the porch and go shopping. I can dress her up in her leopard coat when it's cool out, but otherwise, I just let her go in public naked.
And every day, at least twice or three times, she teaches me yoga. Just like they do it on the tapes and in classes. First, the down dog. Then, the up dog. Stay loose! Stay pain free! Learn from your dog! Totally in the moment, they are, and I learned that's how you stay powerful in the world. Staying in the moment.
'cept, of course, in my life, I seem to keep 'losing' moments. Like the moment ago that I put my keys down.
Lost them today, after the wall. Rather, lost It. My spare key. I can't find the regular ones, I set them down yesterday, and lost that moment too.
Guess where we found it. My son found it UNDER the massage chair where I had stopped for a 5 minute massage so I could get my body and moments back together.
Such is life.
I'd ramble on but I m soo tired.
It's been a good day!
Love,
Yogi

**Good Grief Yogi, what did you call this lol!!!! Sounds like you had a great experience. Good for you, it really is good to give something back! As for Menopause, welcome to the Club, isn't it wonderful :( iVillage has a Menopause and Perimenopause Board and Kt has a website there called the Menopause Oasis. You should have a squiz as it will help you out with any questions you may have. I found iVillage through this Board and it literally saved my sanity. Hmm, that left me wide open, lucky Stel is away HA! Hope Mel doesn't read this ;).
Good to see you Yogi. Get some sleep, actually I hope you are doing that right now! Hilary
