I just couldn't help myself and had some low-fat ruffles and some mashed potatoes for dinner (I'm on South Beach Phase 1). I guess it could have been worse, but I'm still ashamed. I ended up losing 7 then gaining 3 back this weekend (I think I may be retaining some water). Anyways, I am still ahead 4 for the entire week (not too bad I guess). I'm fine during the week, but I just collapse on the weekends. How do I stop my cravings on Sundays? I was home all day, so that didn't help at all.

Aww hon,

Don't beat yourself up. As you say, some of that weight gain is probably water.

I guess that's why I don't do well with most *diets*. I feel deprived and then go for the things I feel deprived about. Weekends do seem to be a tough time.

Would it help if when you get the food craves, drink 1/2 a glass of water (slowly) first?

Just a thought. Maybe others will come up with more.

But it's a new day and a fresh start. :)

I always fall off the wagon when hanging out with my kids. I firmly belive they are a bad influance on my eating. I think their legs are hollow and need to be filled with food every two hours. It never fails I always "try" what they are having. As for the diets I am a carb aholic ~mary~ Good luck

**I think on any "diet" if you say you can "never" eat anything you love then you will "fall off the wagon". Maybe it would be a good idea to actually look forward to, and plan on having a treat on Sundays. Figure out what the treat will be, anticipate it and make time to sit down and enjoy it rather than just reaching for stuff all day.

Sounds like you are doing really well to me, and I agree, fluid retention is probably what happened to you this weekend. I don't think you can gain 3 pounds in two days :) Hilary

Oh hon,

You didn't do that bad really. Like you said you are still ahead by having a loss.

Weekends are more difficult. Our routine is ususually different which doesn't help.

Perhaps stocking up on healthier snacks, munchies and what you are allowed for your diet.

That may help. Don't beat yourself up .. You're still in the game and playing well
