I had a hole in my pocket!
| Mon, 09-22-2003 - 11:21am |
and you all slipped through and my roommate went to her parents house(:(
I was fine Saturday...spent 6 hours in the saddle in a cow clinic (oohhh my legs are sore) then went to the Draft Horse Classic that night...but Sunday....I only moved a little rock...my weeding intentions were dashed by my friend coming over saying she just did hers and that I should wait till the first rain...too hard to pick. So I got bored... wasn't thinking...AT ALL (:( The patch is going back on tomorrow.

Hi Mae,
Wish it'd been the butts that fell out of the pocket and got lost instead of us. ;)
Weekends can be hard. I think you found out you'll need to have them planned with lots of activities and even back up activities.
Hey, maybe your roommate can pick you up (so you'll have to leave your car somewhere) so there's no way you can get to a butt. Having easy access to them at first can ruin the best of plans and while that crave WILL go usually fairly quickly, there won't be any temptation around while it's there.
Here's to your patched Tomorrow. :)

That's good, Mae. Heck, they say it takes the *average* person 6-8 tries before they make the final quit. The less time you wait in between 'slips', the better...jmho.
So jump back on the train/wagon/horse (LOL) tomorrow AM, and give it another go.
Your cheering section will still be here. Pssst...think it may be time to get dsl at home...I KNOW you have tons to do when at home, but it SURE helps to come post/read b4
you light up!!! JUST a thought.....
I'll send ya another good site via em.

I read all the "giving up smoking" discussions and seriously, I know "cold turkey" is difficult but in the long run..hmmm, it is so difficult, any way you go about it. I think you can go cold turkey when you reach desperation point, and all the patches etc. are for when you "know" you have to do it but in the back of your mind, you are not ready. It is afterall an addication.I also agree with Golly, Mae that maybe you should find a programme of some kind and do it with a group of "real" (hang on, we are real!! too), people, if you know what I mean.
I remember coming into the kitchen after Danny had been diagnosed with cancer and he was slamming the kitchen bench with his fists, in tears, basically raging that he wanted a cigarette. You don't know him but he is a very quiet, intelligent, gentle man. Giving up is difficult, I know :) but YOU ALL WILL DO IT BECAUSE THIS AUSSIE HAS GROWN VERY ATTACHED TO THE LOT OF YOU AND WANTS YOU AROUND FOR A VERY LONG TIME "SMOKE FREE" PREFERABLY :) Hil
**LOL, I didn't have to write a screed, just had to lend you a needle and thread HA! so you could sew the hole up. Whack that patch back on Mae :)) Hil
**The less time you wait in between 'slips' the better**
Gotcha!!!
You have a great day!
