vitamin B

Hello.
My mom, who's 50 yrs. old, has started taking a multivitamin with a tremendous amount of B concentration in comparison to other brands of mutivitamins. In fact, all amounts for each (iron, vitamin A, C, D, etc.) are higher in this multivitamin than other multivitamins I had taken a look at.
In doing a little research on the B vitamin, I discovered the recommended daily allowance for B1, B2, B6 and B12 is 50-100mg daily. This vitamin has 81.5 mg of the B supplements. The other multivitamins, that I noticed, contain @ 1.5 to 4.5 mg of B supplements.
Is it possible she could be getting too much in this one multivitamin?
In addition to B, the concentration for iron is 27mg...etc.

Hi Honeybee,
Welcome to the board!
You're really a thoughtful daughter and smart to keep an eye on the amount of vitamins one can get as there are a few where definitely, there can be too much. Let's see what we can find out so do check back later.
Did your mom do this on her own or did her Dr. recommend such? It's always a good idea I think to check as some vitamins can interfere with medications or the Dr. knowing your mom's history might have a good multivitamin in mind. :)
Perhaps someone here also will have more information. :)

Welcome Honey_Bee
If I'm remembering it right, the B vitamins are water-soluble.
Looks like you got some good ideas, advice on the vitamin B.
I am glad as there is not much more I could add.
