Anniversary of the Bali bombings

Today is the anniversary of the Bali bombings. 202 people died, including 88 young Australians on holiday. It is not good when anyone dies, but they were so young.... Such a pointless waste of young life and energy.

There really isn't anything I can say that hasn't been said before but this put terrorism right at Australia's doorstep. I have been to Bali twice and stayed on Kuta beach and if you saw the place, it is baffling why they would have chosen one of God's little pieces of Heaven to carry out such a montrous act.

I HATE war, who doesn't, and it saddens me to think the world has not been able to think of another way! Those who criticize you, Australia and Britain over Iraq may just be right about the facts being distorted or wrongly reported but the bottom line is that we have to fight terrorism. I just don't want anyone else to die doing so.

God Bless Australia, God Bless America and God Bless Britain for having the guts to stand up and be counted but God help us all, and somehow make another way that doesn't take human life come forth.

Typical Aussies are up there playing footie and the mood is positive. John Williamson will sing "Waltzing Matilda" as well. We're a weird mob ;) Hilary

**Wow, Mel, I can't believe you did not know about the Bali bombings. I have put a link down below for you to look at. Like I said it brought terrorism to Australia's front door. It was a year and a month and a day after the New York September 11 tragedy.
