Welcome to Monday ladies
Who has their menu ready for tonight?
What shall it be?
Dining out .. dining in, not eating
Still using the *Q* or prehaps needing the CP for tonight ..
As always *inquiring minds* want to know ..
So let's hear who is having what ..
Make it a good day :)

>>Making some chuck-eye steaks in the CROCKER seasoned w/ some garlic ,onions, thyme and bay-leaf.Falling apart tender--mmm.Serving over widegg noodles and having a salad on the side.

**Sounds great Mel and the pie sounds even better. If you see a poor KS guy with a fork in one hand and ice cream in the other at your door, don't be scared, he's just sort of starved for some homemade apple pie. :)
I am going to fix him some next week only I'll use Johnnies. :)
Hope ds can enjoy. :)

See what I mean I say swiss steak you say roundsteak.

heres mine:

use cheap steak usually eye of round

Brown meat in hot butter with onions

Add tomatoes (crushed in can)

more onions if you like them>

season : salt, pepper, italian seasoning, garlic & whatever strikes your fancy

(chili powder for kick or cumin adds a nice flavor)

SIMMER SIMMER SIMMER till meat falls apart (keep adding water so it dont get dry)

I call that swiss steak served with smashed taters

My mom says steak simmered in gravy is swiss steak. Go figure

What is your idea of swiss steak?

>>I think I have a plan
Sloppy joes (manwhich the only way I know to make them)
**sort of like my easy meat sauce like I use for spagetti. ;)
We have a great family restaurant near us that makes the best swiss steak so I really don't make it, Mary.
But it's like a minute steak cooked very tender and smothered with a yummy gravy sauce

They actually do sound the same Mary ..
What we do is cut up the steak into strips ..
Sautee it in frying pan for a bit ..
Make white rice separately .. Then mix the two ..
Both my guys have always loved this .. Toss in some peas too ..
It's actually quite easy and very tasty :)
