I have been thinking about the food related holidays comming up. Last year I made my first pumpkin pie crust and all!!!:) I was sooo proud as pie crust seem to be hard for me to get right. I was told it was great I do not like pumpkin pie so I did not eat it. I was thinking about what I could try this year. I was thinking homemade stuffing but what a chore. I am the short cut queen when cooking. Stove top is best mix flavors to personalize. Stuff like that. What about you? Do you make everything homemade if so share recipies please? Are you into short cuts if so share please? I am hoping to get alot of ideas in this thread so dont be shy!!! I know Mel (or should I say MOM) has some great ideas. And Tracy cooking away!!!~Mary~

Hi Mary,
What a good idea. Yay for you on making a pumpkin pie. :)
I'll get back to you on some recipes. The guys won't let me change much of our traditional fare so yes, from stuffing to rolls, it's all made from scratch.
It makes for two sort of long days of cooking.
But it seems to be worth it and we always eat out the day before Thanksgiving. :)

Mary, I've Never really done my own Thanksgiving...when I DID, Everybody BROUGHT the food, down to my Mom bringing the turkey.

Don't hate me because I'm a glutton--I do almost everything from scratch, which is why I only cook on weekends!

I am thinking of buying a turkey fryer! I have heard they are great. Any of you tried it. I am oven limited. Only a toaster oven Last time I tried to use my oven it took seven hours to cook and it was set on 500 degrees. So I quit using it. I think if I am careful I can pull off thanksgiving dinner but I will NEED a turkey fryer. What do you gals think.~Mary~
