...PERHAPS A BIT LATE....AND SENT VIA HOME ADDY...BUT HERE THEY ARE, NONETHELESS:) I actually tried the pec work one yesterday...at my desk. I like it:) Gets the tension out of my shoulders & neck. Figured if I get weird looks, I just show 'em the print out of the *CORPORATE* news! You'd think a company so geared toward health, w/our nurse, these tips & everything else they do, would allow me to access a message board called "FITNESS & HEALTH"...lol
Nutrition Tip
Willpower could possibly have something to do with timing. One theory is
that by satisfying hunger with sweets you may actually be encoding the
brain with information that correlates hunger and sweets. So by using
chocolate to alleviate hunger you could potentially be creating a craving
for that food. Try eating sweets and treats when you are full - right
after a meal. Not only will you (hopefully) eat less you may also be able
to reduce your craving for sweets.
Fitness Tip
Pec Work in your Chair. Toning the muscles in the upper body will help you
look and feel great as well as help with daily tasks like lifting, pulling
and pushing. Do the following exercise today to strengthen and shape the
chest and shoulders. Sitting in an upright position on the edge of your
chair, lift arms to shoulder-height and bend elbows 90-degrees, hands in a
loose fist. Tighten the abs to stabilize your midsection (core), flex
(tighten) shoulders and arms and bring forearms and hands together in front
of you. Hold and count to 1. Now, keep the arms and shoulders tight and
use the return to strengthen the shoulders and upper back. Keep elbows
level with shoulders and focus on getting a slight crunch in the upper
shoulder blades when bringing the elbows back to start position. Complete
12-15 reps, 2 or 3 times.
