Poor kid!! My son fell this weekend also no broken thheth tho. He has a fat bloody lip and a knot on the back of his head. (dont ask his brother helped out) I was hoping they would become more graceful with age. or a least not as rough on them selves. I think it is a boy thing.

Mel I want to ask you have you ever had problems with your boys and their school work? If so what did you do about it? I have tried grounding, adding extra work. all kinds of stuff. My oldest had alot of trouble in fourth grade now he is doing great. My youngest is now in fourth grade and is having problems. He knows the answers but wont turn in his work and has about second grade penmenship. I took away his playstation (a fate worse than death) and have him write his letters everyday. Any advice from an experienced mom?????

Hi Mary,
Sorry to hear your son has hurt himself as well.
They do become more graceful as they get older In time of course
As for your son and his school work ..
I would assume the teacher has him face *consequences* when he doesn't turn in work .. right..
That should really do the trick if they *hurt* him enough so to speak .. The at home follow up helps but it really Needs teacher attention .. since that is where the problem is at .. and that is why the teacher is there
As for the penmanship .. even though they say *practice makes perfect*
That is not always the case .. If you are talking *cursive* as opposed to *manuscript*
That will come in time and as he develops more .. nothing you can do can really rush it ..
Including making him do his letters daily .. JMHO of course

Poor guy! Hope the dentist does a good job for him without too much cost to you Mel. My oldest ds knocked out 4 front teeth at age 4. Too young and his adult teeth didn't have enough room to grow in at that age. Lots of dental stuff.

Well, they dont want to put a crown on it till braces come off--Usually-unless there is deeper trauma-like cracking,or root damage. We wont know until he sees his REGULAR dentist 2-morrow as the ortho didnt want to "speculate" So I will know tomorrow what to do!

As I told Judie above--I STILL have to go to his regular dentist tomorrow. The panorama x-ray taken by the orthodontist( to the tune of $218.00--YEP) didnt even show enuff detail to see if the tooth was damaged at all!!!The "full-mouth" x-ray is just to see tooth place-ment,CRAP!! had I known that i would have taken him to his DENTIST..but he is due
