Snoring--bad for my health!

Who's got a husband (wife, Bill?) that snores?  Has anybody tried those nasal/oral sprays that are supposed to help spouses (or in my case SO's) sleep?  I'm dyin' over here! lol....

My SO has snored all his life, but it seems like in these last couple of years (ages 28 and 29) it's getting worse.  He's in good health, doesn't drink much alcohol or caffeine, doesn't smoke, isn't overweight, and works out regularly.  He doesn't eat large meals before bedtime and has tried any number of positions to allieviate his snoring, including sitting up, and *nothing* is working.  It's to the point now where he's not just waking me up, he's waking himself up, sometimes 25 times in one night.  It's starting to wear on both of us, as I'm chronically sleep-deprived anyway (5-6 hours a night 5 days a week, 7-8 on weekends) and he's really sensitive to being sleep-deprived (he needs 9 hours to be well-rested), and it's getting ugly!

I did post to the sleep board (we have one of those!  Insomnia and Sleep Problems...) but thought I'd post it over here too in case anybody had experience with temporary relief.  I'm trying to get him to go to his doctor for a referral to a sleep specialist, but you know how guys do with doctors....

Thanks for any suggestions/sympathy/offers of bedrooms to sleep in!  I'm really wishing we'd sprung the extra $$$ for another bedroom right about now.....

Hi Judie,
Good to see you hon though sure hate to hear you're both sleep deprived.
First, has he tried those otc strips that go over the nose? Might check those out.
I think there's a script spray his regular Dr. could prescribe that could help ...numbs the palate.
If that doesn't work, a sleep clinic might be in order, just to check out it's not

The procedure is called somnoplasty. There are a ton of sites for it.Doesnt look like insurance covers it..unless the snoring ITSELF could prove to be dangerous-like when sleep apnea is involved.I am going to chek into it further....

Oh Judie,
Easy does it this weekend. Just enjoy your friends and grab a nap if you can.
There'll be time for that talk after the weekend.
