You all know that I have just come home from "another" stay at the beach even though I only live less than an hour away from the Sydney beaches. Why!! I LOVE IT!! There is nothing more wonderful, to me, than being able to dive into a champagne surf early in the morning, to catch a wave all the way into the shore, to sunbake during a hot day and fall into the water to cool off, and to walk along the sand or sit and watch the sun come up and set over the water so......I was wondering.

Do *you* ever go to the beach? How often? (some people even here haven't seen the sea)

Are there waves at your beach? (I have seen beaches that don't have surf)

Have you ever lived near the beach? Bet you miss it if you have moved away :)

Danny and I are at a time in our lives when you kinda get restless and think about selling the "family home" and moving. A LARGE part of me wants to do what many retirees do and move north to a beach, BUT............ What do you think?

I love the beach Hilary ..
If we could live on or close to it we'd be there in a heartbeat!
In fact our *dream* is to move to Florida in a condo on the beach someday!
I have lived at the beach long ago .. it was awesome, loved every second of it ..
Miss it now too :(

Well I have never lived by the sea or ocean but I have vacationed in Fla. it was beautiful. I think that living on the beach is entirly different than a vacation. I know that mother nature can be relentless and cruel. And building on th ebeach can be costly when something happens and living too close you know it will eventually. Some typhoon, tropical storm, high tide, some freak enormus wave or some other horrible thing. So a vacation I am all for but no living there.~Mary~

just wondering: Arent you scared of swimming in that sea? I have heard that the most population of great white shark is off the coast of Aussie.

**Not really Mary. Last year there were many sharks at the beach where we stayed and I kinda wondered why I was the only one swimming in the early a.m. Was quite a shock to see "why" on the news. Shark attacks are rare. This year it was wonderful as the whales were still going down the coast. As for the weather, it sounds to me like your tornadoes would be equally as bad!!

DO IT!! Why NOT?

**I know it sounds quite an easy decision Tracy but there are so many considerations. I just love your outlook......the "beach" still has seasons so to speak although in Queensland where I was last week it is hot most of the year. Hilary

could you rent for a few months to test it out?

**Golly this is a really good idea. I thought of that a few months ago. We could put our house on the market in Sydney for an outrageous price, wait for some nut to buy it and then rent in a place we think we might like to live.......just might do that :) Hilary

So if you can .. my vote is *Yes* do it

**Hey Hugs, lots of people move to Florida to retire. It is such a drawcard, the beach and the lifestyle. I hope you can do it one day.

Matt is our "problem" We would have to sell this house and buy a unit for him to live in. Sydney is like any large city, really expensive and Matt is not able to support himself yet. Guess we are looking at a two year plan.

My parents are another problem, they "left" Sydney and have now come back! Good Grief! They had their 12 years in the "sun". Trouble is will my conscience let me leave them in Sydney. They are terrified we may leave. Hilary

Well I definitly understand *that* one
Guess maybe he would need to work and support himself at some point you know .. it's time!

As for your parents .. I hear that too ..
How far would you be .. You could still visit on a regular basis depending how far of course ..
One day I hope *we* get our dream :::sigh:::
