Well I finally stepped on a scale sunday. Boy was I surprised. I gave up on dieting about four months ago:( Quit the slimfast, indulged in snacks of all kind, never watching portions. What did I do kept the diet soda, got used to the water, switched to light margrine. That was it. I needed my food. I was at 184lbs when I started to diet. I was 164 when I quit. Well with all the goodies snacks and full plates I have not gained anything. Still 164lbs. So what is up with that? Should I start a diet again? will I lose again? or should I wait till after the holidays? Is the weight from my quit going to be here forever or can I lose it. I was 150lbs when I smoked. What do you all think????

I think pretty good that you were steady withOut depriving .....

Mary, here's what I'd do...

Don't "start a diet"....

BUT, don't go overboard either...you want to just have a lifestyle that supports gradual weight loss....so, since you are staying even, if you just cut back a bit now and then, That alone should drop a bit of weight.....in other words, just eat a bit less but of the things you are eating now....that way it's not a "diet" that you go on or off....just a "way".

Are you happy Mary. When you look in the mirror do you say "Gee, I look good, I feel great!" If not then......the answer is obvious. Number one consideration is how you feel about yourself! Goof Luck, hey but I am living proof that this "home" away from "home" is just wonderful for achieving weight goals. We are in great company :) Hilary

Gosh Mary,
You're holding your own with just a couple of small changes like switching to diet pop and light margarine.
I think I'd just maybe look for other small changes you could make like cutting back a bit on portion sizes and getting in some walking. :) You're probably much more aware now of how your clothes feel and they also could help you. :)
It may not happen fast but I think slow and steady will do it without you feeling deprived. jmho

Happy Thanksgiving
