Let's talk food...

Let's all try to make good food choices today! If you do choose to eat something that's not so healthy, just try to control your portions. There is NO shame in enjoying one of the world's greatest pleasures (eating!). :P Just be sure to share the details. LOL.

What are you planning for dinner ladies?

We did it. The chicken is "smoking" in the Weber as I type. Wow, you should smell it. Won't be ready for another hour or so but.....I'll let you know. I can't believe how interested Danny is in this. He is already talking about next time!! Ha! He LOVES that BBQ smokey flavour so I will certainly let you all know how it turns out tomorrow. Hilary

DH has been very busy ..

**Have to admit Hugs I was thinking about you this afternoon, dh knew why I wanted the Weber cleaned and he even went so far as to set the coals and light them a while ago. I was silently cackling to myself. If he can set the Weber, light the coals, soak the chips it should take me about 30 seconds to show him how to rub oil and some herbs into a chicken and HE CAN BE THE COOK!!!!!!! YAY!! Who said you can't train an old dog to do new tricks. Umm, perhaps not the best choice of expressions (dh is neither that old, nor a dog for that matter) but you get my drift! HA! Hilary

So, everyone's asleep, that's cool, I guess :(. Don't know why I am so upset, dinner was fantastic. You should have seen Danny and Matt get stuck into it. Funny, the chicken was a little pink, but definitely cooked. The smoke taste wasn't that strong, I rubbed in some garlic and filled the cavity with lemon quarters. Just had some oven wedges with it 'cause it was just an experiment afterall and Sunday night we normally don't "eat" as such. 100% success but I did eat it, skin and all and drank two glasses of red wine and I don't do "that" any more. I have to "weigh in" in the morning with you lot and I can't believe how disappointed I am with myself at the moment. What a goose!

Australia beat New Zealand last night so has secured a place in the world cup Rugby final. France and England play tonight (in a couple of minutes). The rivalry between them, and between us and New Zealand would be as stong I of course will go for England, this Aussie is a monarchist in many ways. Not so much because of my heritage but having lived and gone to school there in my youth. I have enormous respect for the Queen of England and she is, afterall, my Queen!

Have to laugh, talking to myself See ya in the morning! Hilary

**Sounds like it turned out wonderfully Hil. Gosh hon, you certainly don't sound like you ate/drank that much so don't be upset...imho, life is more than that scale and you are getting within goal. :)
I hope you showed your total enjoyment in it so dh will be pleased and decide cooking is really fun . ;)

Happy Thanksgiving
