New - trying to get healthy!

This is my first time to post here but I have been lurking and you all seem receptive and helpful. This also seems like a pretty active board which I like. Here is my story...
I am a 27yo lady who is not overweight but can definitely tell that I have put on the pudge. I am about 5 foot 7 and I wear a size five and have for forever but those fives are beginning to feel a bit tight and I HATE IT! Before I hit 27, I was such a healthy eater. I really did PREFER fruits and veggies but now, well now all I seem to want is crackers, popcorn, potatoes, CARBS! I have not cut out my carbs and am not considering that as I think cutting out anything totally is not healthy. I set about to eat mostly fruits and veggies but, while I do eat a lot of them, I still eat what I consider to be too many carbs.
As for exercise, I don't really do any of that. I did yoga pretty faithfully for a long time and I believe that it kept me lean but I just don't do that anymore. I don't know if I should it no motivation or laziness. Either way, I don't do it. So, I am going to a yoga class tonight, my first in MONTHS, to see if I like it well enough to join that gym. We will see how it goes.
Anyway, not really wanting advice but some encouragement would be nice. Thanks for letting me post here. I can't wait to hear more from the members here.

Sounds like you are taking that first step tonight...taking the yoga class.
I am a BIG believer in exercise...not Just for weight loss but for overall physical health AND mental health.
You defintely found a great group here. Great job taking that first step tonight. I think everything else will start to fall into place once you find something you enjoy. I look forward to getting to know you!

Good for you for deciding now to get in shape! I think clothes are a great indicator for weight gain and loss.

It sounds like you've started your journey towards a healthier you and recognize what you have to work on.
Oh I hope you like your yoga class, exercise really helps I think.
Since you've been lurking you've probably seen farther down we have a place to be accountable.
There's check in, a weekly weigh in and a daily share for how we did. Some use it as a journal to watch how they're doing, some decide not to use some of it. It's up to you and what works for you but we do hope you check in! :)
