As it is the Easter w/end & a long one & all, I was wondering what you people with more normal lives & DH's were up to...
Family coming over or you going to them?
Church or not?
Easter egg hunts, or walks, or whatever to pass the time in a fun, healthy, family-orientated way, even if it's just havinga quiet w/end with your kitty like Nancy?
Ian is in Ostende, Belgium, I think 'cos he said something about maybe having to take a taxi to Luxembourg today & I don't think he's still in Nairobi, Kenya if that's the case. Derek is camping with his friend Nick, 'cos with Ian's job no holiday or whatever family occasion seems to be exempt from MK meddling & so he doesn't see the point in being home for holidays like this (Derek not Ian)...
Ag just how my cookie crumbled & was wondering how your w/end has panned out so far...

Tomorrow is church at 9:15 for the Easter Egg Hunt and then the service at 10. Then back home to collect DH and go to my dad's for dinner...hopefully I can rest a bit and get rid of this awful neck pain :o(
I hope you enjoy your day anyways, Mandy! Happy Easter!

I have had a really busy week and will come up for air for a moment.
Spring Break started on Thursday for the kids, and thus we have a long weekend. Thursday I took the younger kids out to my parents house so I could take Johnathan to Target. He was the only one who hadn't been taken shopping for sandals, and he was promised a lunch date with Mom to go with it. We ended up going to Wendy's for sandwiches and frosty's.
Friday was one of those rare days when I had absolutely no reason whatsoever to leave the house. No kids to take to school, no shopping to be done, no extracurricular activities to go to. Since my house, and especially the laundry, has been suffering lately, I took the opportunity to get four loads of laundry done, half of it put away, start helping the boys get their room cleaned, and make a veggie dip for today. I also made dinner, and some Irish soda bread with raisins for breakfast for this morning. It was around midnight when I finally quit and went to bed, and I was exhausted. I left the kitchen an absolute mess but dh ordered me to bed.
This morning I slept in until 8:30 when Libby came in asking for oatmeal. Then once I got her eating, I lazed around on the couch for a good 40 minutes or so, reading, before I finally decided it was time to get up and start getting some things done. I made a dent in the kitchen before it was time to go to my in-laws for Easter dinner, which is what I made the dip for. We were there for about 4 1/2 hours and I was more than ready to come home. I love my in-laws but they are noisy, and I can only take so much. When we got home it was about 6pm so I started getting the younger kids ready and into bed before finishing the kitchen. I'm not quite done yet, but almost. I will finish up and then put Easter baskets together before I go to bed.
Tomorrow, the kids will have their choice of apple muffins, Irish soda bread, chocolate cake, oatmeal, and eggs for breakfast. It is fast Sunday so dh and I will not be eating. We leave fasting up to Johnathan and let him choose, and we haven't even brought up the idea with the other two since they haven't been baptized yet. They will find their baskets at their places at the kitchen table when they go out to eat breakfast. While they eat, dh or I will sneak outside to set up an Easter hunt for them (we are expecting rain tonight so I don't want candy getting soggy out there over night). We will be going to church as usual tomorrow at 11, but I won't be going to choir practice. When church gets out we will go home long enough to grab the fruit salad I put together tonight before heading to my parents house for dinner and another egg hunt.
Monday, Ethan goes back to school but Johnathan doesn't so I'm still considering it part of my weekend. I plan on going to Michael's so I can get some materials to make some handmade cards and I'll make them Monday as well. And I also plan on getting my front and back yards cleaned up from the winter, and maybe even power raked, and if I have time I'll get some more housework done.
