Food and Negative Emotions

Food can be comforting sometimes when we're feeling down. Unfortunately its effects are extremely short-lived and may even leave an aftermath of guilt and pain over the eating. So instead of turning to food in stressful or emotionally trying situations, try deep breathing, meditation, talking to a friend or going for a brisk walk. Once you master these techniques and use them to help you instead of eating, you will find that you start using them automatically.

Some good ideas there, Lisa and I think turning to God is also another way to help with the emotional eating habit. *wink*

I find it is easier to stop my emotional eating when I'm angry or stressed,
But when I'm lonely or bored - no way.
I need to work on alternative behaviors.
Maybe I could take the dogs outside and brush them.
I definately won't want to eat if I have a mouth full of dog hair LOL
