Starting with Wii Fit

I hear this is a great thing ----
Does anyone here use it?

I am, however, technically-challenged, ----
I have a "wii" -
what are all the equipment pieces I need to get started?
I suppose i hafta also buy diff. "games" - to do all the diff. sports with it?

Do I need yet more hand controls? mat? mat cover? other funky devices?

I think if you get the "Wii Fit" bundle it comes with everything you need for the exercise stuff.
I'm not 100% positive since I don't have a Wii myself - hopefully someone else can help.
I do hope you let us know how you make out!

My kiddos have a Wii Fit and we all use it

It comes with the Wii Fit balance board and one 1 game
The included game has several different areas
Yoga, strength training, balance exercises & cardio
Each area has 4-5 games to begin with and as you use them
you earn credits to get more options.

I use my regular yoga mat under the balance board when I use it,
No special equipment needed.

Then, you can also buy different titles for your Wii that use the balance board.
Gold's Gym has one, and I think there is a Jillian Michels title as well.
We don't have those yet, not sure I'll invest in them.

Oh, and did I mention it keeps track of how often you log on,
reminds you that you aren't coming back often,
and keeps track of your weight & BMI
It asks you to set goals, and lets you know how you are progressing towards those goals.

I don't play with it often, but do use the weight/BMI program.

Thanks everyone -
I'm going to check all the links.

Question: Can you use it on carpet?
Does it matter?
I'm thinking it'll be in our livingroom!!!

We use it on the area rug in our living room,
And the kids take it to their karata dojo and use it on concrete.
I don't think it matters.
