How do you control your cravings?

  • I just cave in to them ::blush::
  • If I really crave something, I have just a little bit
  • I eat a healthy breakfast
  • I keep healthy snacks handy
  • I stay away from my "trigger" foods
  • I exercise
  • Other...please share
  • Combination...which ones?

I voted combination. My combination of working out, healthy snacks, eat breakfast
and eating small portions of the food. This works for me.

If it last more than a day I usually cave in.

It all depends on the time of day for me. If it's after 8 at night, I have a cup of herbal tea or drink some water, or just force myself to say no. I have some sugar free pudding cups on hand for when I really, REALLY crave something at that time of night.

If it's during the day, I usually just eat it.

Hello Suzan...been awhile. I have been doing it for awhile...long while so getting used to it. It is hard. I first started the portion in 2007 when I joined here and that took awhile to get used to. Lots of people have the hardest time to do it.
If I get really craved, I usually drink 1 to 1 1/2 cups of water before my meals to cut the hunger down and eat smaller amounts of the food. If the water amount still does not help, I can raise it to 2 cups. We just keep working at this.

I voted combination. Sometimes I give in, sometimes I have just a little, sometimes I eat a healthy snack instead, and most of the time I try to avoid my trigger foods by not having them in the house. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't! lol
